Allen Todd Schenk passed away on September 12, 2011 in Murray, Utah due to complications of heart transplant. Allen was born to Calvin Claire Schenk and Kathryn Allen Schenk in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 9, 1963. Allen grew up in Midvale, Utah and graduated from Hillcrest High School in 1981. He attended Dixie College in St. George Utah in 1984 where he met his wife of 25 years, Beverly Redd Schenk, married July 18, 1986. Allen was a loving husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, and friend. He befriended everyone who crossed his path. He lived with his family in Beaver Dam, Arizona for 13 years where he was able to follow his passion for golf. He loved working and playing on the golf course where he promoted from Greens Mower to Superintendent of Golf Course Maintenance in Mesquite, Nevada. After being diagnosed with an enlarged heart at age 30, his health would eventually prevent him from continuing his work on the golf course. He moved his family to Murray, Utah in 2001 where he was put on the organ donor waiting list. In 2003 he received his miraculous gift of life from heart donor Heather Lynn Sackett. After his heart transplant he had the great fortune of seeing both of his kids graduate from high school, his daughter get married and bring his two beautiful grandsons into the world. Allen is survived by his wife, Beverly Schenk, son, Calvin Connor Schenk, Daughter, Brittney Taylor (Gary), grandsons Brayton Allen Taylor and Tristin William Taylor, parents Kathryn Schenk and Calvin Schenk, sister, Alisa Galvan. Preceding Allen in death are grandparents, Norman and Gwen Schenk, Virginia Cady, Avril Roy Cady, Johnny Allen. The family would like to give special thanks to the doctors and staff at LDS Hospital and Intermountain Medical Center-Murray and our organ donors' family, Kathy and Ron Larsen and family. We love you Allen. You will be dearly missed.
A public viewing will be held at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State Street in Murray on Thursday, September 15th, 2011 from 6-8 p.m. A graveside service will be held at Salt Lake City Cemetery at 2 p.m. on Friday, September 16th 2011.

I am so very sorry for the loss of your loved one. I am friends with the donors family. I am so thrilled that her gift of life to Allen gave him the years it did. I am grateful that he was able to see and do the things he wanted to get done. I know that Heathers heart was full of love and when she passed , she passed that love on to others by donating organs. He is healthy now and at peace. No more pain, He will be greatly missed by all, but know he is watching over you all and you will be with him again :) much love and prayers
