Anne Vetter Obituary

Anne Palmer Vetter 1930 ~ 2004  Our dearly loved wife, mother and grandmother, Anne Marie Palmer Vetter, died peacefully on April 8, 2004. Her death ended a long and courageous battle with Hepatitis C of which she rarely, if ever, complained.  Anne was born at home in Kaysville, Utah on February 19, 1930 to Joseph and Elma Palmer. She was the youngest of four children (Erla Young, Bud, and Bill (deceased)). When she was young, her family lived briefly in Washington D.C., then later settled in the Highland Park area of Salt Lake City. Anne was loved by all she met. She was beautiful inside and out with a kind and gentle nature that simply radiated. She graduated from East High School in 1946, then went on to the University of Utah where she was a member of the Pi Beta Phi sorority. Anne married Edward I. Vetter, September 1, 1949 in Salt Lake. She led a richly rewarding life filled with family, friends, travel, beauty and purpose. Anne was a natural caretaker and devoted mother. She and Ed were blessed with four children, Mindy Nelson (Eric), Teresa, Carrie Warburton ( Steve) and Rusty (Phyllis). Her close family was her joy. Anne adored her role as "Grammy" and cherished every moment she spent with her nine grandchildren. She loved cooking dinners, family trips and games, summers on Hebgen Lake, and relaxing at the family cabin in Park City. Mom loved and encouraged "gracious" living. She was always a warm, generous and unpretentious hostess. Her children's friends, neighbors, repair-people, relatives and anyone she met, felt welcome in her home. She had a tender heart for pets and especially loved her "Westie" puppies. She was an example to all of us when facing difficult times; always willing to sacrifice for loved ones while never losing enthusiasm for life. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 12, 2004 at the O'Donnell and Sons Mortuary, 372 East 100 South, Salt Lake City at 1:00 p.m. Friends may greet the family at 11:00a.m. The family is particularly grateful for the loving care Anne received at the University of Utah Hospital, Wasatch Valley Rehabilitation Center and Care Source Hospice.

To Ed & Family and Bud & Barbara:

We remember Anne Marie so fondly and sympathize with you at this difficult time. She was always a lovely friend and we enjoyed her sweet spirit and gracious manner. Although we have been away from Utah since 1960, my Dad's cabin which is now my brother Harold's, was next to the Palmer cabin on the Smith-Morehouse River. How we loved it there. Although we haven't seen the Palmer families for many years

we hold a special place in our hearts for the many memories shared. May the rich blessings of Heaven attend each of you.

With Our Love Always........
