BARBARA SNYDER Obituary

Barbara J. Snyder 1936 ~ 2010 Barbara Griffith Snyder was born July 19, 1936 in Chehalis, Washington to Harvey and Mabel Heartley Griffith. She was raised in the Pacific Northwest until leaving home to work in Los Angeles where she met her future husband. She married Fred Bennett Snyder on November 7, 1958 in the Los Angeles Temple. She lived in Spanish Fork until health issues caused her to move to West Jordan to be closer to family. She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, and step-father, Louis M. Breithaupt. Barbara passed away Sunday, September 5, 2010. She was baptized into the LDS Church at the age of 14 and served in the Relief Society and Primary most of her adult life. She had many tests and trials during her later life, but had a firm testimony of the Church and its teachings. She loved her Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and depended on them to help her through her trials. Barbara loved the color blue, the Pacific Ocean, children, Snow White, and all animals, but mostly birds and dogs. She loved the Christmas holiday season. Over the last few years, she kept a decorated Christmas tree in her room year round. She loved her family with a passion and taught them many things by the example she set about unconditional love, compassion for all things, patience, kindness, tolerance, and joy in life. She cared for her ailing husband for several years before he passed away peacefully at home. She is survived by children and grandchildren, Ashley, Cody, Chet, Riley, Aimee, and Kassidy; brothers, Lee (Carol) Griffith, Matt (Gail) Breithaupt, and David (Mary) Breithaupt, and sister, Christine (Mel) Pettit; sisters-in-law Marilyn Walters and Flora (Ross) Mitchell. She was Aunt Jo to numerous nieces and nephews. The family wishes to offer their thanks and gratitude to Dr. Zackrison for his compassionate care for many years; Dr. Habib for recent care and kindness; Dr. Dayton, L-Roy, and Travis and all the others who cared for Barbara in the ER at Jordan Valley Hospital; Tiffany and Liz in the ICU for providing quality and competent care to Barbara and the family during her last hours. Graveside services will be held at 12:00 noon, Saturday, September 11, 2010 at the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, 430 South 400 East. Friends may call at the Berg Mortuary of Provo, 185 East Center, from 10-11:00 a.m. prior to the services at the cemetery. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.bergmortuary.com.

To the family of Barbara Snyder,
we are so sorry to hear of your loss. Barbara was always a delight to have come into the office. We will miss hearing about her dogs and how much she loved them. She was, and still is a wonderful woman and she will be missed. With love, Dr. David Seegmiller and the staff of the Foot and Ankle Clinic
