Bastianntje Leeflang Obituary
1926 ~ 2012
Bastianntje, better known as Sijaan, Jeanne, or Jean Leeflang, in the presence of family, passed on April 7. She was grateful for everything-even the smallest, simplest things. Gratitude always graced her life. Her faith gave her an optimism that others could gather strength from.
She grew old gracefully and effused happiness in her old age. She constantly talked about how pleased she was with her very large family. She is now reunited with her husband Arie, son Pieter, a loving grandfather Bartus Looren deJong, and many others in the extension of this earthly life.
All family members would like to express a special thanks to the staff at Canyon Creek Memory Care Center and Hospice for the exceptional loving care given to our mother.
Bastianntje (Jeanne) is survived by her sons, Bert (Debbie), Bill (Kathy), Bart (Sue), Joe; daughters, Jeanne (Dave) McDonald, Rebecka (Randy) Memmott, Pam (David) Kramer, Patricia (Paul) Milbury, Lia (Greg) Peterson; 40 grandchildren; and 45 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 14, 2012 at 12 Noon at the East Mill Creek 9th Ward, 3750 South Hillside Lane (2600 East), where friends and family can visit from 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. prior to the service. Interment at the Redwood Memorial Estates Cemetery. Messages and tributes to the family can be posted at: www.holbrookmortuary.com

As a young girl, I was always excited to learn that it was my mom's turn to host the Dutch Club. My mother's cherished friend, Sjaan, was one we hoped would attend. Her example of friendship, grace and outgoing-ness was something this now grown up girl will always remember. I wish I could have observed the smiles and hugs Sjaan received from my mom and her dear friends. Thanks to the Leeflang's for always being warm and welcoming friends to my parents, Henry and Ann Copier.

Your mother was a dear lady, always smiling, cheerful and kind. We loved what the obituary said about her constant gratitude. We remember that so much about her. We feel grateful, also, that we raised our family in the ward with your parents, as they were wonderful examples to us of faith and constancy and commitment. Our love and sympathy to all of you.
