Brandon Rogers Obituary

Brandon Adam Rogers 1997 ~ 2004  Brandon Adam Rogers, at the young age of six years old, returned to the loving embrace of his Heavenly Father on June 5, 2004. Brandon was born on August 22, 1997 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Adam and Kristen Rogers. He moved with his family two months later to Idaho Falls, Idaho where he had his first taste of cold winters and learned to love the outdoors. At age five his family moved to Tooele, Utah where he went to Kindergarten, graduated from first grade, and enjoyed making great new friends. Brandon thrived on excellence, succeeding at all that he undertook and making the most difficult challenges look easy. His challenges started at an early age, spending the first two weeks of his life at Primary Children's Hospital combating Hirschsprung's disease, the first of many of his young life's fights that he beat and overcame. Strong spirited and with a contagious smile, Brandon was in continual motion. He never stopped moving or doing something new. He loved working on projects, inventing things, swimming, playing the piano, rollerblading, working in the garden, playing goalie for his soccer team, building castles in the sand, being an example for his brother and sister, mowing the lawn for his father, and sitting in his mother's lap listening to her read him favorite stories. Brandon also loved to sing. He joined a singing group when he was three and started performing solos at age four. Some of our fondest memories will be of his beautiful clear voice singing memorized hymns such as Praise to the Man and Ye Elders of  Israel. Brandon looked forward to the day when he could serve the Lord on a full-time mission. Having been called home early by his Father in Heaven, Brandon now fulfills that dream, serving the Lord in His work as well as watching over his beloved family and friends. Brandon will be dearly missed by his mother and father, Kristen Dickerson Rogers and Adam Zachary Rogers; his younger sister and brother, Mikelle Rogers and Justin Zachary Rogers; and by all his many cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and friends. Funeral services for Brandon will be held Wednesday, June 9th at 1 p.m. in the Droubay Ward building, 691 East Cedarview Street in Tooele, Utah. Friends may call Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m. at the Tate Mortuary, 110 South Main in Tooele or Wed. morning at 11:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. at the ward chapel prior to the services. Interment will take place in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Brandon's name at the Tooele Federal Credit Union.

Darrin Roberts just called to inform us of your family tragedy. Although we haven't seen you for many years we keep abreast of you and your family through visits and eMail from your mother. Just a few weeks ago Tammy told of her pending trip to help take care of your family while some tonsils are removed. We also learned about Justin's broken leg. So you see, you have not escaped our concern nor our love. Please accept our sympathy and love.

We are so very sorry for your loss. Thank The Lord that we know what Brandon has progressed on to. Dear Rogers Family,

I would like to express my deepest sympathy to you at this sad, sad, time. Brandon is a darling little boy and, as you mentioned in his obituary, he is now doing very important work with his Heavenly Father. I know that statement doesn't take away your hurt or the emptiness in your hearts, but we are so blessed to have the knowledge that we will be together again as families throughout the eternities. May the good Lord bless and comfort you during this time. Please know you are loved by those of us around the world who have learned of your loss. You will be in my prayers.

Adam & Kristen-

I am so sorry for your loss! I have always known that you are special people and that is confirmed by the fact that you were chosen to be the parents of such an obviously SPECIAL person who didn't need to spend much time on this earth. There is nothing I can do or say that will take the ache away. Just know that you are in our prayers and thoughts. If there is ever anything you need don't hesitate to let us know. May the Spirit of our Heavenly Father reside with you and get you through this terrible time. We love you.

Your little sis2(Mindy)& Jack (and McKenzie)

Adam and Kristen,

I dont know you I am a friend of one of your relatives, I just wanted to wish you my deepest condolenses.I can't begin to fathem the pain you feel,Take shelter in our father.

Grief is a narrow thing, tight against my breath, begging an answer to unanswerable death, im remembering a sunrise, I saw the bright quick streams of light sing gold across the sky. and it came to me then how essential is the night:for only from dark do we know dawn at all, the memory lets one small solace in if we must endure an end to know the endless, oh gladly I will let you go: that when i see you standing at the door, to that more permanent place, how quickly i'll recognize the eternal in your face.

Dear Rogers Family,

Brandon's obituary and his picture touched my heart and I would like to tell you that I know the feelings you must have at this most difficult time.

The Spirit World has gained a great missionary and I know this knowledge will bring you great comfort. Our 19 year old son passed away accidently while he was serving his mission. I know that great peace will come to you as Heavenly Father does not leave us alone when these experiences come to us.

Adam, Kristen and Family, there are no words to adequately express our heartfelt concern for your loss. As you know, children are given on loan to us as parents for whatever period is necessary to accomplish their mission. Brandon was obviously special, with a brief, but important mission. We have six children on loan to us and consider each one of them very special. Please know that the love, concern, and prayers of my family are with you in your time of grief. Sincerely, The WHEELER's
