Brenda Godfrey Obituary

9/12/1962 ~ 9/24//2011
Brenda Lee Godfrey was born Sept. 12, 1962 in Soda Springs, ID to Rueben Ross Godfrey and Darlene Clegg. She returned to her Heavenly Father on Sept. 24, 2011 after suffering fatal injuries in a motorcycle accident.
Brenda grew up in Soda Springs, ID and graduated from Soda Springs High in 1980. Growing up, she had one big goal in mind to be a Hair Stylist/Beautician. In the fall of 1980, she moved to Provo to go to college at the Mary Kawakami Cosmetology/Beauty College where she graduated in Sept. 5, 1981.
After graduation Brenda moved to various areas in the Salt Lake Valley where she continued to grow her client list, some of which have been with her for 25 years. She worked hard often putting in long hours at the salon doing hair.
Brenda was a loving and caring daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Her enthusiasm for life was contagious. Brenda was full of compassion for those around her and was always quick to check on everyone, often being the first to help out. Taking care of everyone was second nature for her. She loved everyone no matter their situation in life and displayed this in her giving ways and opening up her home so graciously to others.
Those who remember Brenda, speak of her contagious laugh and her beautiful smile. She made the world a better place just by being in it. She will be deeply missed by everyone who knew her.
Brenda was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Brenda is survived by her parents, Keith (the only dad she ever knew) and Darlene Clegg and siblings, Scott Clegg, Lori Godfrey, Wayne Clegg, Shauna Clegg, Jennifer Smith, Connie Olsen, and Sara Johnson. Her little dog Dillon was a light in her life and will be well taken care of.

Brenda: Although I did not know you as long as others, you have definitely touched my life. Meeting and knowing you was such a special treat and I always looked forward to seeing you at the salon. You were my "feather girl" as well as a friend of immense beauty. I am deeply saddened and will miss you. I will cherish your smile and bright personality. Peace and love.

My dear friend, our time as friends was so short compared to those I've read here yet my loss runs as deeply as theirs. We all share the same sentiment; that life without you will be hard to bear. I love you and will miss you forever.

Our dear sweet Brenda ~ we are in shock by your passing. You have been a dear friend to us for 25 years and it's still hard to believe that you are not just a phone call away. With our Christian faith, we know where you are and know you are in good hands until we see you again. God has blessed you with all the kindness and love you showed all the people you knew and met. We love you and miss you deeply.

Dear Brenda,
I can't imagine my life without you in it! You were such a giving person, always willing to help whoever needed help. Thanks for 22 plus years of friendship. I loved all our adventures and travels and will treasure every one of those memories forever! My family and I love and will miss you so much.

You would always marvel at how cutting off such huge piles of my hair really didn't show up as me having any less! Twenty-five years is a long time. My mother is so upset she doesn't know what to do. You even did my sister's hair at her wedding and in the hospital when she had her amputation. You visited when Mom got her dream home and attended her mortgage burning, one of the most cheerful and supportive people imaginable at any party. We love you, we miss you, the world won't be as good without you. Marva, Theresa, and Sharon

Brenda, it's funny, everyone is telling you to rest in peace, I can't see you doing that. You are probably up there right now inviting your friends over for a BBQ. You were always a very outgoing and energetic person. Thank you for all of the wonderful memories that you left me with. You will be missed but we were blessed to have known you. Love Jim
