Charles Pollei Obituary

Charles W. Pollei 6/9/1919 ~ 5/19/2008 Deeply loved and respected, Charles W. Pollei passed away on May 19, 2008 at the age of 88. Charles was born to Ester andWilliam Pollei of Salt Lake City, Utah, but raised by his grandparents, Ludwig and Matilda Pollei, also of Salt Lake City. Charles is survived by three daughters, Karen, Vicky and Linda from a previous marriage to Norma Campbell. He later married LaVon Garner Croxford of San Mateo, CA and helped raise three more girls, Kay, Carolyn and Kristine. He had a very successful career in both Real Estate and the Naval Reserves, but the greatest joy was his marriage of 45 years to his beloved wife, LaVon. They traveled the world teaching, dancing, and performing on Cruise ships. His other love was performing with the Menlo Park Barber Shop Quartet. Charles spent his final years in Santa Barbara, CA in the care of his devoted daughter, Carolyn Croxford. The family members most involved in his life the last six years were, Eugene L. Kimball, Carolyn and Kristine Houle. "What we once enjoyed and deeply loved we can never lose. For all that we love deeply becomes a part of us. May your memories of Charles remain in your hearts forever." Carolyn Funeral Services will take place at the Garner Funeral Home, 1001 11th Ave., Salt Lake City, UT on May 28, 2008 1 p.m. with Military Honors immediately following. A Viewing will be held that same day at Noon. Please come celebrate Charles's life with his family.
