COLIN WILSON

Colin Wilson "Always a joker and will be missed" Colin Wilson of Sandy, Utah died November 3, 2009 after a long illness. He was born December 12, 1929 in Colne, Lancashire, England to John Snowden Wilson and Lily Hesketh. He graduated from grammar school at age 15 and then he went to trade school for motor mechanics. He served in the British Army for two years. In 1954 he came to America, where he met his wife Bette Jean Freeman Lee and they were married on June 15, 1956. Colin was an avid ballroom dancer and was crowned the Jitterbug champion of Northern England. Colin and Bette loved racing on a local, regional and national level. Together they have won over 160 different racing titles. He worked in the steel industry from the ground up to a super-intendant. He retired from Patton Scaffolding as a senior sales executive. He is survived by his loving wife, sister, Audrey Hughes, and several nieces and nephews and two cousins. He was preceded in death by his parents. A memorial tribute will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2009, 2:00 p.m. at the Bellview Ward LDS Church, 1050 East Galena Drive (9820 South), Sandy, UT in the Relief Society Room.
