Colton Burbank Obituary

Colton Wayne Burbank
1995 ~ 2017
Our dearly loved, Colton Wayne Burbank, 22, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, July 14, 2017.
He was born on January 14, 1995 to Gary and Karen Huff Burbank. He grew up in West Jordan, Utah amid many great friends and family members, including his sister Natalie and twin brothers, Bradley and Brayden. He was their greatest protector, taking great care of his "little big sister" and keeping the twins out of trouble.
Colton was always inquisitive, loved learning new things, and sharing his knowledge with others. He was an avid reader. He was a proud graduate of Copper Hills High School, where he excelled in academics, and was also honored to be an Eagle Scout. He was kind, compassionate and loved serving others. He looked for ways to make others happy and was especially tenderhearted toward his mother.
He was always happy and content. He had simple pleasures and found great joy just being around family. He loved spending time in the outdoors camping, particularly at Bear Lake, and could always be found in a quiet corner with a book in his hand. Treating his family to Pizza or Ice Cream or meeting any need was one of his greatest delights.
He was an Assistant Manager at Walmart Tire and Auto Center where he was respected and admired for his work ethic. He was an active member and Elder in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and has now gone on to serve his mission on the other side.
He is survived by his loving parents, sister Natalie (A.J. Lubbers), brothers, Bradley and Brayden, grandparents Paul Huff and LaRae Burbank, aunts, uncles and many cousins who adored him. He was preceded in death by his grandmother, Jerry Ann Huff and grandfather Wayne L. Burbank.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 21, 2017 at 11:00 am in the Oquirrh Utah Stake Center, 5208 W. Cyclamen Way, West Jordan. Friends may call on Thursday, July 20, at Goff Mortuary 8090 S. State St., Midvale, from 6:00-8:00 pm, or on Friday at the church one hour prior to services.
An account has been set up at Zion's Bank under the name of Colton Burbank Donation Account to help his family with the funeral arrangements. www.goffmortuary.com

I knew Colton through a friend who works at the Mcdonald's in that Walmart. Seeing him smile and have fun with everyone there was always a delight. He made everything fun and was always willing to help others. I really am sorry for your loss. I wish I would of taken time to know him. He seemed like a sweet man. I hope that one day it will be a happy reunion when you are all reunited with him again.

I do not know you or your family, but I felt like I needed to share what just happened. As I was reading through the obituaries on my phone, I clicked on Colton's, and as soon as I did, my phone randomly began playing the hymn "Abide With Me" from David Tolk's album "In Remembrance". My phone hadn't been playing any music at all until it started playing that song. It brought a sense of peace, which is why I felt I should share this with you. It is a song that brought me a lot of comfort during a time I lost a beloved family member almost 4 years ago. I am so sorry for your loss and pray that you can find the peace and comfort you are searching for in this difficult time.

I'm so very sorry for your loss! We know that "no righteous man will go before his time", but sometimes it's difficult to agree with that timing! I pray that you will all feel the peace that only the Spirit can bring. You are certainly in my thoughts and prayers. Love Rachel Ehrhardt
