Dan Eldon Thomas

1950 ~ 2013
Our beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away on Tuesday, January 15, 2013, due to complications from heart surgery.
Dan was born January 14, 1950, in Pasadena California, to David Eldon Thomas and Helen Marie Thomas.
Dan was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served an honorable mission to the Porto Alegre, Brazil Mission. Following his mission, he married his eternal sweetheart, Allyson Murphy, in the Salt Lake City Temple.
He graduated Magna Cum Laude from Brigham Young University with a Bachelors Degree in English, and a Masters degree in Community Education. Dan loved to write stories, poetry, and sonnets throughout his life. He published a book titled, "And Other Things." Many of his works were published in local magazines.
With his brother, Dan owned and operated a successful drywall company for almost 40 years. Together they served many residential and commercial builders throughout the state of Utah. Running a business for Dan was much more than a job, it was his passion.
Dan is survived by his wife Allyson (Murphy) Thomas, his children Justin (Sara) Thomas, Malia (Mike) Strauss, Skylar (Heather) Thomas, his 14 grandchildren. His sisters, Sharron Fowler and Tamera (Mike) Walker, and his brother Richard (Annette) Thomas.
Preceded in death by his parents, Eldon and Helen Thomas.
