Dave, we will miss your kind words and especially that big bright Canadian smile, eh. We are lucky that our paths crossed and we were able to get to know each other. I don't know where I am going to find another Canuck as nice as you, that let me poke fun at the great frozen North quite like you did. Rest in peace, eh hoser.

Leanne,

We love you...oh so dearly and mourn this loss. You and Dave have held an important place in our hearts for the many years we have been friends. I feel priviledged to have had you as my faithful Visiting Teacher and now to have the opportunity to serve as yours.

This past Christmas is one our family will never forget. You and Dave truly touched our lives for good. He engraved his sweet spirit in our hearts and memories forever.

As you recall, our oldest daughter asked the big question shortly before Christmas and was heartbroken to know the truth about Santa. Bill and I grieved this discovery in her life and were worried it happened prematurely. I expessed my concerns to you. After discussing it with Dave, the two of you decided to make our children your Christmas Eve service project.

Dave came by the house late one evening and discussed with us what kind of experience we would like to have. I showed him a book I wanted him to read to the children (Polar Express). He showed deep concern and ran through several scenarios with us. He took the book home to practice along with some pajamas to give the girls from his sack.

Christmas Eve was soon upon us. We had just finished watching Luke 2, when, lo and behold, we could hear sleigh bells upstairs! With a jolly, "HO, HO, HO!" and a twinkle in his eyes, SANTA came bounding into OUR family room! All four girls were in wondering awe at the sight. They were thrilled that he would take time on such a busy night to come visit with them and read a bedtime story. They talked about it for weeks, and I know each year, it will be a memory they and we will cherish. Just as Santa, Dave's (and your) spirit of loving generosity will always be alive in our hearts! God be with you, Dave, until we meet again...

Love,
Bill, Gini and Girls (Libby, Adelynne, Hallie & Isabelle)
