Dora Alires Obituary
Dora Suzanna Chavez Alires, O.C.D.S, 94, passed away peacefully on June 14, 2013, at home in Kearns, Utah. Dora was born March 15, 1919 in Ensenada, New Mexico to Jose Miguel Chavez and Onofre Martinez Chavez. She married Jose E. Alires in Parkview, New Mexico.
Dora was a devout member of the Catholic Church and a Secular Carmelite member of the Salt Lake Community. She had a strong faith and devotion that was instilled in the values of her family.
Dora was preceded in death by her husband, Jose E., her father, Jose Miguel, her mother, Onofre, brothers, Miguel and Pete, sisters, Predicanda, Senovia, Veronica and survived by sister, Avilia Valdez.
Survived by her children, Lucille (Jesse) Lozano, Benny (Evelyn) Alires, Felix (Lorraine) Alires, Toby (Louise) Alires, Consuelo Alires, Lorraine (Enrique) Fonseca, Priscilla (Roy) Mullen, Emily Asher, Joe (Randy W.) Alires, Irene Alires, and Dominic Alires, 27 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchildren and 12 great, great-grandchildren.
A funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at Saint Francis Xavier Catholic Church, 4501 West 5215 South, Kearns. A vigil service will be held Tuesday at 7:00 p.m. also at the church, where friends may call from 6:00 - 7:00 p.m. Committal, Mt. Calvary Catholic Cemetery, 4th Avenue and T Street. Funeral directors, Neil O'Donnell and Sons.

To All of Dora's Family: I was so very sorry to hear your sad news. My favorite memory of Dora was when she had a day of prayer and stories at her house. It was funny when she said Jesus told us she needed to laugh more. She was a special lady and I will miss seeing her at Church. May Our Loving Lord bring you Peace during this hard time.

Of all the gifts a mother gives the most precious is the love she has for her children. I am thankful for my mother's example in faith, values, and love. I will miss my mother deeply. I appreciate the support and comfort of family, friends, & co-workers who stood with us during our sadness in mourning the loss of our sweet mother. God Bless you.

Grandma I know it was selfish to wish you would be alive forever. I am at peace with your passing knowing that you will live on in my heart forever. It's hard letting someone who has always been there for us go, but I know you are truly happy now.
