Dorothy Marie Anderson Beckstead, age 96, was born on December 7, 1918 and passed from this mortal life on December 19, 2014. She was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin Gordon Beckstead, a World War II Navy Veteran. She is survived by her three children, Gary Beckstead (Marjo), Lani Rawlins (Leon, deceased), Mary Potter (Glenn), 14 grandchildren, 52 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great-grandchildren. She was employed most of her adult years as a waitress and especially enjoyed serving her customers at Lamb's Grill. Dorothy lived a long, sometimes hard, but beautiful life. She died happy, but she was ready to be reunited with her husband and family who had passed on before her. Thanks goes to Legacy House for their kind and caring service.
A viewing will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2014 at 10:00 a.m. at the Heritage Ward LDS Chapel, 67 West Clay Park Drive, Murray, Utah. Funeral services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Dedication of the grave and interment will occur at the Murray City Cemetery.

Dear Gary, Mary, Lani and spouses. I just want you all to know how much I love Aunt Dorothy. She and Uncle Benny always had their home open for us. She was such a great example to me. the way she took care of herself, healthwise, Her eating habits and walking everyday. She lived a Christ like life. Know you will miss her and so will I. Sorry we can't be to the funeral, because we are in Brazil with our friends here. Know that I love you all. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year. I am thankful that she gets to be with Uncle Benny. Love you all.

Dorothy was such a sweet and valiant soul. We had the privilege of knowing her and enjoying her as a dear friend in the Gospel. We will miss her! Our condolences to those she left behind; may the Spirit comfort you.
