Douglas Godfrey Obituary

Douglas "LEVI" Godfrey 1976 ~ 2006 Douglas Levi Godfrey, age 29, passed away January 14, 2006 in Magna, Utah in an automobile accident. Levi was born to Richard Branstitter and Linda Godfrey November 28, 1976 in Salt Lake City, Utah. Levi loved his little girls dearly. He enjoyed spending time with them, taking them fishing and camping. His favorite time was spent hunting and fishing with his Uncle Jug. Growing up Levi played soccer. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. Levi is survived by his daughters, Alexis Rae, Haylee Rose and Aubrey Ann; mother, Linda G. Bates; sister, Amber Woolsey; and grandmother, Audrey Godfrey. He is preceded in death by his grandpa Douglas J. Godfrey. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, January 19, 2006 at 12:00 noon at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. The family will receive friends at a visitation Thursday morning from 10 until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Interment: Francis City Cemetery at approximately 2:30 on Thursday.

You know that Larry And I will always be there for you and Amber, anytime or anyplace. We did go through a lot with the boys growing up and getting into all of the mischief that they did, after all 3 heads were better than one. After all of that, neither one of us got any gray hairs.......right? You and Amber are a very strong women and I know that you can get through this pain. Think of the good times and you can make it through the bad times. If you feel blue or sad at anytime call me and we can go to Paris shopping, I'd love to get some of those great deals that you get. My thoughts are with you and Amber.

It's not natural for our child to be taken before his parents but sometimes that is

God's way, that God has special plans for him and that's what I've been told, and I hope to

God that's true.

I know that the hurt and pain that we feel will lesson in time, but it will never go away completely.

You two will have a lot of good memories. I will have a few. I wish I could have gotten to know him.

Linda, Ambie, and Randy,

We were deeply in total pain when we heard that this terrible tradgedy happened to our nephew and we know that it has been a long while since we have been in contact and for that we are going to try to keep in touch. I loved him with all my heart as I do all of you.Being able to see his children and our great nieces was beautiful they are little dolls. Thank god for having all of you as family.

When you called me Sunday morning and told me, I thought I was dreaming. The thought of losing another best friend was too hard to believe, but it's true.

Dear Linda, I am sorry to hear about your loss and send my condolences. Levi grew up to be a good man, and in childhood he was a good friend and at times my best friend. I wish over the years now that i would have had more contact with him knowing we both loved to do allot of the same things fishing, hunting, camping, and all that outdoors stuff. Levi was funny, outgoing, energetic, and full of life, it is hard to believe that he is gone.

I only know you by seeing you and your family when one another is outside of our homes. And a wave here and there. I haven't yet met you in person but I have heard so many wonderful things about you and your family (Levi and the girls).
