Edna Lou Olsen Neilson 1942 ~ 2011 Edna Lou Olsen Neilson, 69, of Spanish Fork, returned home to her Heavenly Father early Monday morning, July 11, 2011 after a long battle with breast cancer.Edna was born June 4, 1942 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah, to Lula and Rex Olsen. She was the only girl of five children. Edna married her high school sweetheart, Jimmy David Neilson, March 11, 1961 in Mt. Pleasant, Utah. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Manti LDS Temple. They just recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in March; this celebration and accomplishment was the highlight of her life. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter -day Saints. Edna worked hard all her life doing many different jobs. She worked for First Security Bank, Nebo School District, Youth Corrections, Office of Family Support, and she retired after 24 years from The Department of Workforce Services in 2005. Her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the light of her life. She loved them dearly and spent many days enjoying her life with them. Edna was loved by all that knew her and she was always there to help and support her loved ones. Edna is survived by the love of her life, her husband, Jimmy David Neilson, Spanish Fork, Utah: five children: Jodi Lynn (John) Black, Spring-ville, Utah; Rusty David (Desiree) Neilson, Ephraim, Utah; Pamela Sue (Monte) Bingham, Spanish Fork, Utah; Bobbi Jo (Jared) Diamond, Payson, Utah; Emily Dawn (Gerald) Williams, Spanish Fork, Utah. She is survived by 23 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren, and three brothers: Rex Don (Roleen) Olsen, Richfield, Utah; Bert H. (Carol) Olsen, Magna, Utah; Ted A. (Shauna) Olsen, Lindon, Utah. Edna was preceded in death by her parents Rex T. and Lula Jensen Olsen, brother, Boyd J. Olsen, grandchild, Kent R. Jensen Jr., and great-grandchild, Beau C. Jensen. The funeral will be Thursday, July 14, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. in the Spanish Fork East Stake Center, 850 East Canyon Road, Spanish Fork, Utah. Friends may call at Walker Mortuary of Spanish Fork, 187 S. Main Street, on Wednesday, July 13, 2011, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. and Thursday, July 14, 2011, at the church from 9:00-10:30 a.m. Interment will be in the Spanish Fork City Cemetery, following the funeral service.
