Elaine LaVon Lawson passed away peacefully in her home on September 26, 2018. Elaine was born June 20, 1938 in Salt Lake City, to Gail H Perry Sr and Marie S Perry. She married John C Lawson on March 7, 1964; later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on March 10, 1979. Their marriage was blessed with love and happiness for over 49 years, until John's death in 2013. Elaine was the proud mother of two sons. She was dedicated to her children and doted over her grandchildren and great grandchildren every chance she got. Elaine loved her job and helped countless children in her 25+ year career at West Kearns Elementary.
Elaine is survived by her children, Darren (LeeDon) and Brian (RaeLynn); grandchildren, John (Brigette), Amanda (Tyson), Justin (Bev) and Kyle; great grandchildren, Kelton, Kirstin, Kaden, and Stratten; brother, Brent (Paula); niece Sheri (Lloyd) and sister in law Chris.
She was preceded in death by her husband John, parents, sister, and brother.
Elaine was so special to her family and will be greatly missed. We take comfort knowing she is reunited with the love of her life. A graveside gathering for friends and family will be held at 12:00 noon on October 3, 2018 at Valley View Memorial Park, 4400 West 4100 South. A viewing will be held at 10:45 at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South.
