Eveline was a dear friend to all of us at the University of Utah Department of Biochemistry. It was always a pleasure to meet her at events such as the Department picnic. Her enthusiasm for life, like rafting the length of the Colorado through the Grand Canyon at well over the age of 80, and her excitement at seeing the latest scientific discoveries, were both inspirational and contagious. It was also uplifting to share her joy at seeing the successes of trainees and faculty. We will miss Eveline and are grateful for having known her. We will honor her memory each year by making an award to the postdoctoral trainee who most exemplifies Eveline's values of scientific success and community engagement.
