Our mom, grandma, great grandma, sister, aunt, and friend, Evelyn Hamblin Pfnister, passed peacefully Saturday, April 24, 2021, at the age of 78.

Evelyn was born October 8, 1942 in Ogden, Utah to Dudley and Eva Hardy Hamblin. Graduated from Davis High School, class of 1960.

Married Jerrold Knighton August 13, 1959, in Salt Lake City, Utah. The union was blessed with 5 children William Zephara, Jeri Annette, James Anthony, Susan Victoria, and Eva Melissa. Though they later divorced their friendship remained until Jerry's passing on May 5, 1989.

Evelyn later married John Pfnister on June 21, 1980 in Ogden, Utah. John's sons, Steven and Todd Pfnister then joined our family. John later passed away January 17, 2019.

Evelyn had a love for rock hunting. She could find treasures anywhere from Topaz Mountain to the gravel in her driveway. Her large collection of unique rocks, trilobites, sand dollars, crystals, and petrified wood were joyfully shown to anyone intrigued by her hobby.

She was proceeded in death by her parents, first husband Jerry Knighton, husband John Pfnister, and son Zeph Knighton.

Survived by children, Annette (Stuart) Arnold - Bremerton, WA; Tony Knighton - Rupert, ID; Vicky (Leandro) Castaneda - Kennewick, WA; Melissa Dalton - Rupert, ID. Stepchildren, Steven Pfnister - Sugar City, ID; Todd (Petina) Pfnister - Moab, UT. Sister, Debbie (Bret) Hines - Ogden, UT. 21 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 am Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Morrison Funeral Home, 188 South Hwy 24 in Rupert, Idaho 83350. A live webcast of the services will be available at morrisonfuneralhome.net
