Everett Fifield Obituary

Everett Willis Fifield 1911 ~ 2008 On July 14, 2008, at the age of 96, Everett Willis Fifield, with his family by his side went to his Father in Heaven. Everett died of causes incident to his age. He was born September 5, 1911 in Fairview, Idaho. His parents were Charles Byron Fifield and Nina Delores Peck. Everett had three brothers and three sisters who have preceded him in death. Everett is survived by his wife Betty, son Clair, daughter in law Elizabeth. Grandchildren Emily (Clint) Burningham, Thomas (Michelin) Fifield and Benjamin (Thao) Fifield. He had four great grandchildren, Cassandra, Dallon, Kiersten and Chantry Burningham. He had many nieces and nephews who he cared deeply for. Everett was a medic in the Army before and during World War II. On December 7, 1941 he was stationed at Schofield Barracks, Hawaii and made significant contributions in the saving of lives at Pearl Harbor. Everett was a member of the LDS Church and was the Capital Hill Ward clerk for many years. He was especially loved by the children of the ward as he always had a treat for them. Everett had several hobbies and in his earlier years enjoyed many outdoor activities of which fishing was his favorite. He loved to tell stories of his "BIG" catches. He also restored antique firearms, and was an accomplished amateur photographer. Everett graduated from Stevens-Henagar Business College with a degree in business management. He worked at Dixon Paper Company for 30 years. After his retirement he kept busy with his hobbies and caring for his family. He had an adventurous spirit and traveled throughout the United States and Great Britain. Everett was a man of impeccable values and was admired and respected by all who knew him. He had a passion for life and a love and devotion for his family and friends, he will be missed dearly. A viewing will be held on Saturday, July 19, at 10:00 a.m. at Wasatch First Ward, 1750 South 1500 East, Salt Lake City; services will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at the family cemetery in Fairview Idaho at approximately 3:00 p.m. Online condolences at www.larkincares.com

Dear Betty, Claire, and Elizabeth:

I am saddened to learn of Everett's passing but feel privileged to have known him for many years. There are no words to describe this wonderful and compassionate person. Everett was a spiritual giant who was loved by those he befriended. My thoughts and prayers are with his family for this loss

When my husband and I were first married, we were neighbors of Everett (behind the Capitol). He always had a kind word and always had a smile on his face. I've thought of him fondly through the years. You couldn't help but love him!
