Forrest Stone Obituary

Forrest D. Stone1927~2003  Forrest D. Stone, 76, died December 3, 2003 after a courageous battle with lung cancer and emphysema.  He was born February 13, 1927 in Belt, Montana. He grew up in Browning, MT, and Lander, WY, graduating from East High School, Salt Lake City in 1945. He served in the Marine Corps during World War II and the Korean conflict. He graduated from the University of Wyoming with a degree in civil engineering. He worked for Peter Kiewit Sons' Construction Company, 1950-1980, retiring as Utah Area Manager. He was a longstanding member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church, serving as treasurer, 1981-2003. He was previously a member of the Episcopal Diocese of Utah Standing, Finance, and Auditing Committees. He was a member of the Masons, Scottish Rite, Shriners, and Sigma Nu Fraternity.  He is survived by his wife, Barbara Reeve Stone; his daughters, Linda  Tyler (Wayne), Sara Chatfield (Douglass), and Cynthia Richards (Robert); his grandchildren, Katharine and Benjamin Tyler, Marshall and Ellen Richards; and his sister, Dorothy Trondsen (John). The family deeply appreciates the kind and loving care provided by Dr. Ahn, and the staff of University Hospital, the Huntsman Cancer Center, and Care Source. Funeral services will be held at noon, Monday, December 8, 2003, at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 261 S. 900 E. Reception after the service in the parish hall. Graveside services will follow at 2:30 p.m. at Mt. Olivet Cemetery, 1342 E. 500 S. Funeral Directors: Evans & Early Mortuary. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Paul's Episcopal Church Memorial Fund or another charity.  Semper Fi
