Visits by my dear Uncle Frank, my mother's brother, were always highly anticipated. He was so full of joy and passion and wit, and had the gift of showing a genuine interest in each of us in my family. Our conversations were a delight even though he spoke in his distinctive (and nurtured) Down East accent. I remember a special moment with him when I visited for an overnight before the 2002 Olympics in Salt Lake City. He made a point to chat with me before bedtime because he planned to get up early to make the first tracks off the Tram at Snowbird. In Frank's very recent years, more efforts were made to get together, for which I am so thankful. A favorite story of his was that he could not retire. Of course, this always prompted the question "Why not?", to which he would reply "because I have not started working yet". In that simple exchange, he was a teacher, a mentor, and an example of how to live an exceptional life by doing what you love.
Frank, I miss you but hold within me your example, and for that, whenever I think of you, I will have a very big smile.

I'm so sorry to hear about your loss. May your memories comfort your heart; and God help the Moody family during this time of sorrow. Isa.41:13

My father Dr. Frank Gordon Moody lived a life filled with a passion for his life-saving work, his love of the mountains, and most importantly his love of his family. A man of great dignity and respect, he mentored and be-friended many around the world with his teachings, astute advise, and sense of humor. He will be remembered as a wonderful father who provided valuable guidance to me while on the ski slopes or on our many treasured hikes. Donald had a beautiful connection with his Grandpa who was very proud of him. I am blessed to have spent so many years with this wonderful man and am honored to be his daughter. Jane Moody Bjorklund

I am forever grateful for the gift of friendship our family and extended family had with Frank. I met Frank at Snowbird on New Years Day 1997. Without hesitation, Frank embraced my family with good cheer, Snowbird skiing companionship, and changing the course of my mother, Lorraines life by intervening on her behalf during a Stage 4 Cancer challenge. She is with us today because Frank truly has character beyond the ordinary to the absolute extraordinary. Apres ski dinners with stimulating conversation will be memories forever. Frank and my Father both served in the same Airborne Division. The serendipity of our friendship began on the mountain to then transcend the skiing experience to saving a life and touching the hearts of so many in our family. We can all learn from his integrity, passion for living, and discernment.

Dr. Moody inspired many through his love of life, seizing the moment to make the most of every situation he encountered. He was not only great medical researcher, surgeon, and teacher, he was a leader par excellence. During his tenure as President of the Wasatch Academy Board of Trustees, where two of his children attended high school, he envisioned the attainment of academic and institutional excellence that served as a guide for the recent extraordinary successes of Wasatch Academy. Frank Moody changed numerous lives and through those lives his legacy will be felt for generations to come.

I'll remember his sharp wit and sense of humor, and fun family dinners when I was a guest in his house in Salt Lake in the early '80s.
