Fred McLean Obituary

Fred Douglas McLean 1932 ~ 2005 VERNAL - Lifelong resident of Vernal, Fred Douglas McLean, age 72, passed away October 22, 2005, at his home with his family by his side. He was born to Fred M. and Norma Hullinger McLean November 8, 1932 in Vernal, Utah. He married Deon Elenor Chivers March 31, 1951. They were sealed in the Vernal LDS Temple November 1, 2003. Doug loved to be outdoors fishing and hunting. He enjoyed spending time at his cabin on Diamond Mountain, but most of all he loved spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. He loved working on and taking care of his yard and home. He worked 32 years for Chevron. Doug graduated from Uintah High School in 1950. He was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his wife; children, Karinda (Jeff) Magee, Sherry (Mike) Lewis, and Lesha (Allen) Hacking all of Vernal; his sisters, Cheryle (Ron) Santhin, Gloria (Ralph) Hamblin both of Vancouver, WA, Norma Jean Killian of Norwalk, CA; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Veon Johnson and Edith Rector; brothers, Gilbert McLean and Ken McLean; and twin grandsons, James Michael and Jack Douglas Lewis. Funeral services will be held Wed-nesday, October 26, 2005, 11 a.m. at the Vernal 6th Ward LDS chapel. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, October 25, at the Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary and one hour prior to services at the chapel. Interment will be in the Vernal Memorial Park under the direction of Thomson-Blackburn Vernal Mortuary.
