Gregory Young Obituary
Gregory Kent Young, born March 13, 1980, left this world on June 19, 2012.
Greg entered the home of Kent and Jennette Young who loved him from the moment they knew about his arrival. Greg was so happy from the moment he arrived. He demonstrated a great sense of humor, a heart as big as life, a great love of family and friends. He was gifted with great intellect and natural abilities as an athlete, being chosen as state Lineman of the year in 1998. He played football and wrestled at Copper Hills High School. He loved spending time with his cousins who were loved by him and who loved him as if they were siblings. He loved serving others whenever he saw the need. He continued his education at Snow College and excelled in his job on campus and as Baad Club President and was honored with state awards. He met the love of his life, Summer Isaman, who he married in August of 2003 in the Mt. Timpanogos LDS Temple. Greg continued his studies at Salt Lake Community and Weber State. In 2009, Greg and Summer were blessed with a beautiful daughter who was his joy. He loved spending all his time with Lilly and Summer. Greg later suffered from a seizure disorder, but continued his love of life and family.
He is survived by his wife, Summer; daughter, Lilly Elise; parents, Kent and Jennette Young; brothers, Brian Young (Natalie), and Brandon Young (Kristen); sister, Jennifer Moon (Brandon); nephews, Dalton and Owen whom he adored; niece, Kara, who he thought of as a princess; and his grandfather, James Jorgensen. He was loved by his in-laws, Von and VeraLynn Isaman of Salem, Utah; Holly and Matt Meagher; and niece, Rowan who brought him joy and an added sense of family love. There are so many people Greg loved and so many who loved him that we want to thank all of you for love and support. Especially the Spring Haven Ward in Syracuse, Utah and extended family on both sides.
Preceded in death by grandmother, Doris Jorgensen; grandfather, Max Pierce; grandmother, Norma Jean Young; grandfather, Kent Young; Aunt, LuJean Edwards; and an adored sister, Julie Young. The world lost one of their best men the day Greg left.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon, Thursday, June 28, 2012 at the Spring Haven LDS Chapel, 3065 S. Bluff Road, Syracuse. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at Russon Brothers Bountiful Mortuary, 295 North Main, and Thursday morning 10:45-11:45 a.m. at the church prior to services. Online guest book at www.russonmortuary.com. In lieu of flowers, contributions to Greg's wife and daughter can be made at America First Credit Union to the Greg Young Memorial Fund.

I found out through a friend that Greg had passed away earlier this year. I truly am at a loss for words and saddened by the news.
I got the pleasure of becoming friends with Greg during our time at Snow College. We were both very active in the school and our paths crossed a lot. From what I remember of Greg, is that he was a nice guy with a heart that dwarfed his actual size.
Whenever I saw Greg between classes, or at school functions, I always would chat with him and talk about life and school.
Greg was a great guy, and someone that I have always kept in the back of my mind, even though time and distance placed itself between us.
I know, without a shadow of doubt, that Greg is in a better place and happy. He was a wonderful person, and I am grateful that I had him in my life, even for such a short time.

Greg was always a breath of sunshine. His captivating grin, and positive words were such a blessing to everyone who truly knew him. He truly had others' interests in mind throughout his life and sacrificed his own interests for others. Krista talked about him as though he were her 5th brother - he was surrogate in the absence of her older brothers, and was always encouraging to her. What a loss for us - it's hard to understand why good people are taken. There must be some who need him on the other side. Did we know what we would be called on to bear before we came here? I believe we did, and somehow we thought we could get through it, but my heart, my prayers, and my tears go out to you, Jennette, Kent, and the rest of the family. I cannot imagine what you have been called on to bear, and hope I never have an inkling of that personally. His was a life well-lived, and you can be pleased with him; grateful he is forever a part of your family, and that you had such an integral part of molding and shaping his character and life. Third time must be the charm because I have been trying to write you this all night. It's been a month and it feels like an eternity to be without you and your sister. I don't know how to get through day to day without each of you. The beautiful Daughter who is grams buddy helps, and so do your nephews, niece and brothers, sister and wife. But I can't do it alone not without prayers and many tears. I piece of my heart dies daily and I know my Grandma knew best when she said it would never get better. To loose 4 of you so close together I can't tell you what it it's done to my heart. But have been able to be your and Julie's mom makes me truly thankful to our lord I know he sent me the best, I begged he would take me and leave you here with you sweet family. How can one month seem like an eternity? You would need to be Greg's mother,wife or daughter or Dad, Brother or Sister. I ask my self everyday how I am going to do this then this beautiful curly head shows her face, Grams lets watch my favorite video of Daddy. You make you self rise to the occasion and make yourself do things you don't want to do because life for those you loved you the most need to remain as stable as they can. We are not Brave, We don't do it without prayers and many tears. I still don't know how I'm making it through my days with out my sister and my mama but to loose 2 of my most precious gifts. I loose a piece of my heart every day. Lord thank you for some of the best of the best. Being their mother meant the world to me and it meant the world to their father also. with my heart and soul mom

Today it's been a month, it feel as an eternity. I can't imagine another day without you here. I know what made you leave had to be so important. Because I can't imagine anything more important than your being here. I still ask myself and our Lord everyday, How am I going to do this without you, Julie, Grams and Jeannie and then I see the answer asking to watch her favorite video of her Dad, Lilly, Dalton, Owen, Kara and my Summer and your Dad and Brian, Brandon and Jenny is how I do it. But I am not Brave and I do not do without many prayers and tons of tears/ wherever I am you Are there along with Julie my babies who left me way to early. Summer, Lilly, Kent and Families
What a shock to open the paper and see the obituary of Greg. I am so sorry that I was not able to attend the viewing and funeral. May our prayers and thoughts be with you all at this time and beyond. Summer, talk to Lilly every day about Greg with a picture and she will know her dad truly. I did that with our Heather while my husband was at sea...she knew him right off. Much Love and Prayers

Uncle Kent & Aunt Jennette,
I am very sorry to hear of Greg's passing. He aways made me laugh. Some of my best memories are of spending the summer with Greg and the other cousins. We spent many summer nights camping out on Grandma Norma's lawn or on your trampoline. We would just look up and count stars until we fell asleep. Those were the best summers of my life. I am glad I was able to spend them with Greg and your family. Greg will be missed no doubt. Please know that I will be thinking of you and your family. I love you very much.

I was shocked to hear of Greg's passing. He was a great person. He always had a smile on his face that was so contagious. He was my manager at Harland and I knew he always cared and had my back. He will truly be missed.

Greg always made me laugh. There is no consolation in this moment, so I look around me for any comfort I can find. I live next to the Great Sioux Nation, nine tribes across the Northern Great Plains, where people have their own language called Lakota. My faith informs me that Greg will make me laugh again. And there is no word in all the language of Lakota for "goodbye."

Dear Young Family,
Words can't describe the shock and sadness upon hearing about Greg's passing. Greg played an integral part of my formative years at Copper Hills, and I was proud to call him a teammate and friend. He pushed me to be a better person, and I'll always hold him in the highest regards for that.

Summer, Lilly, and the Young Family. Greg, and I worked and traveled together for about year at Alsco Inc. Greg's since of humor kept those of us on the team laughing, and made it easier for each of us to travel so far from home and from our families.
I am greatful that I got to know Greg in this life and I am a better person for laughing with him.

Young Family, I am so very sorry for your loss! I met Kent when my mom worked at Harland (I later followed there after she retired). I will keep you in my prayers and know that he is in a much better place! Most of all - remember that families are forever!! I lost my husband and I know what you will have to deal with in the coming months, it is my faith and the knowledge that families are forever that keep me going each and every day, it also helps me to continue to raise the 2 children I was left with to finish raising at his passing!! I will always remember Greg as one of the brightest people I knew. From my childhood, he was one of the "cool" cousins. He would play his guitar and sing funny songs to me and my sisters, bounce us around on the trampoline, and was always up for practical jokes. I'll also never forget my wedding day in 2009, while Summer was pregnant with Lilly. When I forgot my bouquet for the ceremony, it was Greg, always the first to offer help where needed, who ran and got it for me. The memories I have of him I will always treasure. I love you Greg, you were the top tier of amazing. It was impossible not to love you. Summer- we love you and Lilly so much, and we are always here for you. ALWAYS.

Summer, Kent and family. I can't even tell u the shock I felt when I first heard about Greg. My heart completely broke for you. He touched a lot of people's lives, and now we are all here to support you at this very difficult time.
