I was shocked to hear of the sudden passing of Helga. I worked with Helga, on many occasions, in the Region 6 Regional Office. She was very dedicated to her profession. My heart goes out to her family.

Knowing Helga taught me new ways of looking at things. She was always the first to stand up and give credit where credit was due and to voice her appreciation of people and things. Her energy and enthusiasm for her work and her family were examples to live up to and my life is richer for having known her. I will miss her.

I met with Helga many times through mapping and geographic names meetings. It was enjoyable talking with her, especially about all her travels. I wished we had her cartographic experience here at the Forest Service Rocky Mountain Region. She will be missed.

George and I were so sorry to hear of the passing of your wife, Helga.
It seems that her life was just too short. I appreciated the influence the neighborhood friends had on my life and the good times we had together. We extend our sympathy to you.

Although Helga and I have only worked together for 3 years and only met face to face a couple of times, I admired her zest and spunk. Our last visit, the first part of June was truly a treasured one, we shared vacation and family stories. Like a red rose, Helga's life was full of passion, vibrance and beauty. Thank you Helga for being a wonderful spirit and coming into my life for what was only a brief moment. My sincerest sympathies to Bob and her family.

We first met Helga in 1970 Frankfurt Germany when Bob in the US Army was the Commanding Officer of MMC, VCOSCOM. Helga made us feel welcome always and made us feel part of her family. We were very happy to renew our friendship with her and Bob in Vancouver for the past many years and are very saddened over our recent loss. Auf Wiedersehen, Helga..... We'll miss you, Ed & Gail

I have known Helga most of my Forest Service career beginning in 1980. I knew who she was, when at worked at the Mt. Adams Ranger District, but got to know her very well when I worked in the Gifford Pinchot National Forest Headquarters for 6 years (1997-2003). Helga was a wonderful asset to the Forest Service and she leaves a legacy with all of maps that she has done in her career. She was very dedicated to her job and extremely thorough in her work. My heart is saddened that she has left us so early, but heaven will be a better place, because Helga will map the way and be there waiting for the rest of us.

We were pleased to work with Helga on the Gifford Pinchot NF. She was always very pleasant with us. She was a beautiful woman, and we are so sad that she had to leave this world so suddenly. May God comfort her family during these difficult days.
