JAMES CHAVEZ Obituary

James Duien Chavez 1969 ~ 2010 Our beloved husband, father, brother, son, uncle, James Chavez, 40, left this world October 23rd doing what he loved most, hunting and being with his family. He was born November 27, 1969 in Ogden, UT to Jim F. and Shirley Chavez He graduated from Roy High in 1988. He joined the Army in 1989 and served our country in Desert Storm. He was Honorably discharged as a Sergeant with the 6-6 Cavalry in 1996 He enjoyed his family, hunting, camping, listening to music and making jokes. There was no place he'd rather be than with his family in the mountains. He looked forward to every hunting and camping season with his cousin (brother) Mike. He also looked forward to every NFL Sunday to watch football with is brother-in-law Trent (as long as the Steelers would win and the Raiders would lose). He was an amazing husband, an incredible father, brother, uncle, son and friend. He brought joy to everyone who crossed his path. He is survived by his wife Tonya, three children, Kylee, Shelby, Hunter and his dog Koda; brothers Mateo (Doug) and Erik (Brittany); mother Shirley and grandmother Sadie Griego; first wife Staci Peterson. And so many others who loved him. Preceded in death by his father Jim F. Chavez and dog, Tasha. Celebration of his life will be held Thursday, October 28th at the Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 17111 S. Camp Williams Rd, Riverton, at 3:00 p.m. Special thanks to Bear River Hospital, all of the EMT's, Rudd Funeral Home, and everyone who has helped our family through this difficult time. I would like to personally thank Mike and Jen for everything you did up there. You are truly my heroes. "Honey, You were my best friend, my rock, my world, my everything. I can't imagine my life without you but I know I have to be strong for our boy. I promise you I will. You will forever be in our hearts. Until we meet again, your short and sweet." My deepest sympathy goes out to James’s family. He was a humble caring man who was always good to me. I will always remember that wicked fastball, happy smile and quiet demeanor that was James. The world lost great friend, father, husband and human being; God bless the Chavez family and those hurt by the loss of one of the truly nicest people I have ever met.

We have a lot of respect and admiration of and for James. Our memories of him will be of him playing with Hunter, working in the yard and chatting with us about whatever. I'll always remember when we had our little girl there was a ring at the door. When I opened it, there was James... a real tough guy with his goatee, low brimmed hat and all... in his hand, a little pink gift sack of baby gifts! Tonya, we love you and Hunter and our hearts and prayers are with you.

I went to school with James and then supervised him at Price Savers. He was always such a good worker. He always had a smile on his face and made work fun. It's sad to know that the world will no longer have him in it. May peace be with all of you at this time and always!

My Dearest; Family Members
Words can't express my deepest sorrows and sympathy for your loss. We don't know the reason my "God" calls upon us when our time is near at hand. I remember Grandma Claudia expressing a dream she had...I asked her what it was. With such "Joy' and "Love" for God she said how "BEAUTIFUL" the heavens is in her dream. We all one day will meet as a family and gather together with rejoice and peace.

God Bless You ALL.. We will keep you in my prayers.

Much Love!!
