James G. Frankos

James G. Frankos A King Lives 70 years  James G. Frankos passed away peacefully on April 23, 2003.He was born on April 3, 1933 to Mable Marie Frankos and Peter Frankos in Magna, Utah. He attended Cyprus High School. He graduated from Westminster College in 1961 where he was a star guard for their basketball team. Jim was drafted in the Army on June 21, 1954 and served until 1957. He married Carma Deane Ellis on August 18, 1961. Following his marriage he began his teaching career with Salt Lake Public School District teaching most of his 32-year career at Hillside Intermediate School. Jim was a real sportsman. He ran track, played basketball, tennis and bowled, but his true passion was golf. He was an avid golfer and played whenever it didn't snow. He enjoyed time on the course with all his friends. He bowled with the Saturday Morning Early Birds for more than 40 years. His proudest accomplishments were his children. He always sacrificed his time and his heart for them. He is survived by his wife, children – Scott (Camille) Frankos, Clinton; Marie Frankos, Salt Lake City; Cathee (Karl) Anderson, Kaysville, Cristee (Brad) Trowbridge, Sandy; grandchildren – Chloe Marie Frankos, Kyle James Anderson, Claire Marie Frankos. Sisters – Athena Sdrales and Grayce Surel, brother – George Frankos. He was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Nancy Cartwright, Rachel Marie Nacario, brother William Frankos and brother-in-law Vaughan "Bud" Ellis. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 28, 2003, 1:00 p.m. at Jenkins-Soffe Mortuary, 4760 South State St., where friends may call Sunday 5-7 p.m. and Monday from 12- 12:50. Interment-Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers family suggests contributions to the Multiple Sclerosis Society of Utah, 2995 So. West Temple, Salt Lake City, UT 84115.
