1938 - 2025
Bountiful, Utah-Janet Packard Boehme, born March 1938, passed away on September 23, 2025 at home, in the company of family. After 10 years and 10 days, she is reunited with Don!
Janet was born in Salt Lake City, to Clarence F. (Pat) and Catherine Young Packard, and lived in Salt Lake and Bountiful, Utah her entire life. Janet was the seventh of what would eventually be 13 children, and loved having a large family! Janet attended Davis and Bountiful High Schools, though did not graduate due to Polio and Rheumatic Fever. She would later complete her GED. Janet married the love of her life, Don Boehme, on October 27th, 1957, in Bountiful, where they would spend the next 58 years creating a wonderful life together. Together they had four children; Kathy (Raymond Knighton), Andy (Nichol), Matt (Amy) and Joe (Stephanie). Janet spent over 20 years working for Mountain Fuel/Questar, managing the food services for their three Salt Lake County facilities. She was lauded for her skill in the kitchen, as well as her business acumen.
Janet loved her family dearly, and it showed in the frequent gatherings hosted in her home. "Aunt Janet's Christmas Party" would regularly top 100 visitors; both family and friends. She loved to golf, even if she played through pain and weakness from the Polio. She loved her Wednesday night "Club" friends, and all the other friends she made along the way. She loved to travel with Don, visiting family out of state, weekend camping, looking at leaves in the Fall or reservoirs in the Spring.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Don, her son Joe, and seven brothers and sisters. She is survived by five siblings, three children, 13 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
We will hold a celebration of Janet's life, on October 3rd 2025, in Bountiful, at The Grand Ballroom, 165 South Main, Bountiful, Utah, from six until 8pm (handicap entrance in front).
The funeral will be held on Saturday, October 4th, at the Stake Center, 2651 South 500 West, Bountiful, Utah at 9am, with graveside service to follow, in Geneva Cemetery, Geneva, Idaho, at 2pm.
