1935 ~ 2021

Jeanne Dolores Branson, the beloved matriarch of the Branson and Morgan family, passed away peacefully on the morning of Sept. 18 at 86 years old. She will always be remembered as the warmest, gentlest, sweetest, and most generous woman by all who had the privilege to meet her. Her grace and kindness was admired by all who loved her. Jeanne didn't have a mean bone in her body and she lit up every room with her gentle humor and positivity.

She was born on June 28, 1935 to Florence and Oscar Nagengast in Torrington, Wyoming. She would eventually move to Azusa, California and graduate from Citrus High School in 1953. Throughout her life, she traveled the world, living in India with four small children, and even going to Papua New Guinea. She worked at the University of Utah for over forty years. In her usual fashion, Jeanne was beloved by her coworkers. She loved spending time with her loved ones, animals, traveling, puzzles, history, opals, flowers, aspen trees, solitaire, sudoku, movies, the color yellow, Frank Sinatra and John Denver, Little Bird, (Bear), and drinking wine while watching ABC's David Muir.

She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Allen and Crosby, sister Marilyn, and former husband, Lane Branson. She is survived by a family who loved her completely: her sister Joyce Hayes; her children, Kevin (Sunny), John, Stephanie, and Glenn; her grandchildren Michael (Nicole), Sean, Megan, Anna, Andrew (Emme), Maren (Jake), and Christian (Shannon); Donna, Sherri, and Judy Branson; and many beautiful friendships.

Her last day on Earth was full of so much love and she will be missed immensely. Per her request, there will be no service, but the family asks in lieu of flowers to donate to

Save the Children.

Words do not adequately describe how much she was loved, and how much she will be missed.

Jeanne was a wonderful first friend when we first came to Utah and helped us in many ways. She was a tactful, forthright, kind and thoughtful person and we will miss her very much. The world is a little less bright now that she is gone.

I have memories of her visit while Brian and I were living in Italy. Lovely guest, remarkable grandmother to Mic and Sean, and fun loving cohort to Kevin and Sunny´s adventures. Thank you for sharing her with us for that brief time.

We were all blessed by Jeanne's presence. It shows in the characters of all the Bransons that I know in my life. Truly caring and considerate.

I cannot begin to list all of the words that would describe my long time friend and colleague, Jeanne. She was positive, helpful and extremely competent with a delightful sense humor. We worked together for a long time and I appreciated how serene she was, particularly during the all too frequent challenges we encountered. When friendship becomes a memory, that memory becomes a treasure. She is gone but will not be forgotten.
