Jody Padjen Hortin

1958 ~ 2021

We lost our sweet lady after a long and courageous battle with M.S.

She passed peacefully with her best friend, husband, and devoted caregiver by her side.

Born to Joseph and Kay Padjen on Oct. 18, 1958, and raised in Midvale with her two brothers.

Jody met the love of her life, Kirk Hortin, and they married on July 27, 1985. They were inseparable.

Jody's loves were her fur babies, the color purple, beloved Green Bay Packers and her amazing sense of humor.

She devoted 20 years of hard work to the Western Nut Co. before her illness forced her retirement.

Preceded in death by her sister "Baby Mary," parents, and brother Steven. Survived by husband Kirk Hortin, brother Mike Padjen (Sue), nieces and nephews, extended family, including her adopted son Soloman Awan.

As per Jody's wishes, there will be no services. If you would like to honor Jody, please donated to the MS Society or Utah Humane Society.

I'm sorry to hear Jody is no longer with us. I worked with her for several years and she made work fun. She always had a joke to tell and had a laugh that was unmistakably hers. She was also a very caring and giving person.
