Joe Clausen Obituary

1943 ~ 2013
Joe died at home on March 15, 2013 from complications of Multiple Sclerosis.
He was born in June, 1943, in Kansas, to Ray and Deon Clausen, both deceased. He moved to Petaluma, California at a young age and later with his mother to Fruita, Colorado, then Roosevelt and Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from South High. He served in the US Army from1966-1968 spending 13 months in Thailand.
Joe worked for Utah Kennecott Copper for more than 30 years on the track and in the mills, retiring in 2001. He leaves his wife, Brenda, and children Walter, Jolene and Raymond. His brothers are Duane (Shirley) Wagaman, Neil (Cora) Wagaman, Dale (Jill) Wagaman and sister Meredith Oates. His brother Kirby (Dixie) Wagaman is deceased. He leaves several step children and step grandchildren and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
Joe struggled with the ravages of MS since 2002. He wanted to give a big thanks to his wife Brenda, her son and daughter in law, Nathaniel and Marilee Forrester, his son Walter Clausen, and his doctors and nurses for his excellent care during his last years.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 23, at 2:00 p.m. at the Holladay-Cottonwood Memorial Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive. A gathering will be held at the Mortuary immediately following the service.
In lieu of flowers please make donations in his name to the National MS Society, Utah Southern Idaho Chapter, 1440 Foothill Blvd, Ste 200, SLC, UT, 84108 or to a charity of your choice.

Brenda,
We were saddened to hear of Joe's passing. What fun we used to have dancing with you both. Our fondest memories are when we began dancing with the Rocketeers with you and Joe as presidents. Thanks for the good times, Joe. Love and peace to you Brenda.

I used to work with Joe at Kennecott, what a joy. I will always remember his quick wit! But most of all the laughter
