Julie Maughan Obituary

1963 ~ 2018
Julie Ann Maughan, age 54, lost her courageous battle with Breast Cancer on April 18th, 2018. She was born on August 4th, 1963 in Salt Lake City to Robert O and Georgia S Maughan.
Growing up, Julie loved family events when everyone could get together and spent a lifetime of lunches, dinners, and fond gatherings with her parents, sisters, nieces, and nephews. She went to dinner every Sunday with her parents and to lunch with her mother every Thursday.
Julie began ice skating at the age of 13, and her talent allowed her to travel the world for 16 years as a professional ice skater. When skating it made her feel like she was flying, strong, and complete. Julie was incredibly artistic, and once she stopped skating professionally began pursuing other artistic endeavors. She loved fashion design, and created her own line PAJI. Paji started as pants to perform in, moved to coats, vests, and other creative designs; her company taking on the identity of a child for her. Julie's hope is that Paji will continue on and flourish even though she is gone. Julie's creativity did not stop there; she modeled, drew, painted, wrote and produced a song, and made a home movie.
Julie is survived by her mother, Georgia, her two sisters; Sandy Boyack and Lori (Frank) Maughan Arnone, and several nieces and nephews. She is preceded by her loving father Robert.
Julie left behind the love her life, her soul mate, "My Jason". Julie's enormous heart touched many, and the tremendous amount of friends she made throughout her life will all miss the sunshine she brought.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday April 21st at City View Memoriam 1001 E. 11th Ave. beginning at 1:00 pm.

I miss your laugh, I miss your smile, I miss our friendship but I am so fortunate to have shared so many great memories with you. One in particular was during a performance in the ice show when your sugar levels went low. Tami, Bonnie and I played pass the sugar tablet on the ice to you while perfectly choreographed and you never skipped a beat and the audience didn´t have a clue what was going on. The show went on and we laughed at our mastery when it was all over. You taught us how to be resilient.

Another year since you left. I still catch sight of you in the corner of my eye sometimes. I still hear the hint of your voice in the next room. You didn't really leave, so you didn't need to apologize. You will always be with me.

Your birthday, not long ago. Was it a different day? Not for me. I think of you every day. Every single one. If I could stop, I would. I've tried. I'm miss you so so much. Such a wonderful life. Such an unbearably hard lesson.

Dearest Julie. To reflect on memories with me in a lifetime filled with her love and companionship and deep friendship. I remember the day she and I met in the fifth grade as if it were yesterday. I am only discovering now that one of the very dearest people in my life has passed as sadly we had not been in touch with each other the last four years. I will love her with all my heart always and cherish all of the memories that we shared and were Tremendously influential in shaping my life and how I live today. A true light in this world that will always be. XO. Andi Koski

My dear sweet friend Jules. I remember meeting you at Stephanee's and asked you to be part of the Hootennny. It was then I started to get to know you and you're wondrous, loving, giving spirit. You are always such a bright light to everyone you came in contact with. We had so many laughs and I will never forget your beautiful smile and your great laugh. Soaking in the hot tubs up at Lava Hot Springs last February and sharing that weekend with you and others was so much fun. Amongst many other great times. You will be so missed. Love you always. I had the fortunate experience to travel with Julie throughout the world as ice skaters. As young kids we supported each other and encouraged our inner artists. Julie came to Toronto Canada and created her Paji line for a dance group that another friend of mine choreographed and they won 1st place. Wherever she went Love and light and talent followed. She was so much to so many different people. Her diversity has touched so many. I will miss her unique laugh her smile and just her prescense. Until we meet again Jules. I love and will miss you.
