Lori Bevan Obituary

Lori Bevan 01/17/56 ~ 12/30/02 Lori Bevan, age 46, suddenly passed away Dec. 30, 2002 in Moab, Utah. She was born on January 17, 1956, in Salt Lake City to Laura J. Bult and Jack B. Neilson. Lori was raised in Salt Lake City where she made many true and lifelong friends. She graduated from Olympus High School in 1974 and married Mark Bevan in 1974 (later divorced) with whom she had two most wonderful boys, Zach and Ben. Later she met her soulmate, Keith Herrmann who worshipped every breath and every step she took, and together they built their dream home, the Adobe Abode Bed and Breakfast, in Moab Utah. It was a labor of love. Lori was one of the brightest and most sincere, kind-hearted souls to ever grace this earth. She will be forever remembered and missed by those who were privileged enough to know her and to love her. She was one giant redwood who spread her arms to embrace family, friends, life, and living. Her beautiful hand-painted motto hanging over the threshold of her home reads, "Live Well-Laugh Often-Love Much." Zach wants everyone to know how deeply he loved his mother and how utterly he will miss her. We are so sad to have her go. Lori is survived by her infinitely-loved son, Zach; partner, Keith Herrmann; mother, Laura J. Bult; stepfather, Gordon E. Bult; sisters, Chris (Neil) Timothy, Tara (Stan) Christensen; stepsisters, Laurie (Dave) Berceau, Linda Bult, Lisa Stevens; ex-husband, Mark (Leslie) Bevan; stepdaughters, Lorrie (Marc) Macy and Kim (Matt) Wick; grandsons, Riley and Jacob; and eight nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by her father, Jack, and son, Ben, who died serving his country in the U. S. Marine Corps.  Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 4, 2003 at 2:00 p.m. at the Valley View Funeral Home Chapel, 4335 West 4100 South, where friends may call two hours prior to services.

Keith,

You & your dear family had an amazing influence on my life as a child, and it has been too long since our last reunion.

I received word about your Lori and my heart grieved. I met Lori several years ago, and the beautiful impression I have from that moment, will be my memory of her. As has been said, she was certainly gracious and kind-hearted. What an honor to share in her life--and what an honor to celebrate her life in this new season.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, with Lori's son Zach & family. Keith, we hope to have an opportunity to see you very soon!

Love,

Mikki, Chuck & Baby Jack

Keith, Lori's Family, and Friends

It was a sad day when I heard about Lori's passing. She was a special and warm person who will be missed. I have known Lori since at least Jr. High. I have had several Alaska friends who by chance stayed at your B&B and came back and told be about her warmth and positive outlook.

I wish you all the best in these sad times.

You have been there practically my entire life. From when Zach, Ben, and I used to play as children to watching Insatiable at the Arts Festival this past summer. Jenny and I would always look forward to seeing you and Keith every year, and only wish that it could have been more often. You were such an awesome person. We love and miss you much.
