Taylors, South Carolina—Lorry Annette Houston-Burkins, 43, passed away September 18, 2021.

Born in Melbourne, Florida and raised in Salt Lake City, Utah, a daughter of Larry Arnold and Emma Elizabeth Roberson Houston of Salt Lake City, Utah; she was an actress of theatre and a member of Calvary Baptist Church as well as Taylors First Baptist Church in Taylors, South Carolina.

Surviving in addition to her parents, are her husband, Robert Portá Burkins of the home of Taylors and two sisters, Erica Elizabeth Houston-Critchfield (Samuel Blue) and Kesha Sharee Houston both of Salt Lake City, Utah.

Funeral services will be held 12:00 p.m. Saturday, September 25, 2021, at Taylors First Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Josh Powell and Rev. France A. Davis, Pastor Emeritus, of Calvary Baptist Church, Salt Lake City, Utah. Burial will follow in Taylors First Baptist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 10:45 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. Saturday at the church.

Dearest Emma and all other family members; I weep for your tremendous loss of Lorry's young and productive life. I didn't know her but I loved her through her mother's journey. I am so very, very sorry and I admire your strength in faith.

My memories of Lorry bring such joy and peace to my soul. Her beautiful smile, her gentle spirit, her strong testimony of her faith in God regardless of her health difficulties were all recognized by those whose lives she touched. I count myself blessed to have had the pleasure of being her "next door neighbor" in the church office at Taylors First Baptist Church. What a blessed assurance we have knowing that Lorry has been healed and is in the presence of Jesus. You will be greatly missed. Robert, you have been such a blessing to my grandson, Kayden. Thank you for your love for the children of our church family. We love you and we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
