Lynette Childs Obituary

Lynette Marhall

1971-2025

Salt Lake City-Aka Netty Slaughter, Netty succumbed to the effects of chemo fighting cancer. Netty commanded the room anywhere she was, her personality and bearing it made a person want to be a part of her world. She easily made friends and considered her friends her family she touched the lives off so many, like the little engine that could , if she believed she could do it she did it. Despite her physical limitations she lived like she was ten feet tall and bullet proof. Saying she will be missed is inadequate to describe our loss. Netty was door bouncer for Burts Tiki lounge and brought fame to said place, on the Comedy Centrals, Insomniac with Dave Attel. She was once Princess of SLUG magazine and written about in numerous medical publications. Graduate of St. Anns, Judge Memorial and the U of U, proved she was smart as well as good looking.

Proceded in death by her father John D Childs Jr. Survived by her mother Elaine(Sam), brother Stephen, niece Elizabeth, nephews Kurtis and Patrick, as well as aunts, uncles and numerous cousins, all of whom she loved dearly. Services will be at on December 6, 2025. For family and close friends, at the American Legion Post 12, 320 E. 3900 S, Salt Lake City, from 2pm -4pm, children may attend , and for the majority of Friends, ACES High Saloon will be hosting an event @ 6pm til close that same evening with live music, see Facebook for details and address. Thank you to the staff at the Huntsman and Bobby, Tommy, Kat and everyone else, I'm sorry if didn't mention you by name who helped take care of her during the long months of pain.

Yesterday

I was a teacher at St Ann´s and remember Lynette fondly. She was kind and thoughtful but strong and determined as well. I´m so sorry to learn of her passing. My prayers are with her family and friends.
