MAGNA- Mack L. Cheney, 85, passed away October 29, 2002 in Magna, Utah.
Mack was born in East Garland, Utah on August 5, 1917 to Owen and Ada Cheney. He was married to Nona John on Dec. 7, 1940; she passed away in January 1978. He later married Bonnie John. Mack graduated from Bear River High School in Garland, Utah and served in the Army Air Corps in World War II. He was employed at Kennecott Copper Corp. for 37 years, most of the time as a supervisor at the Arthur Mill. He retired in 1979. Mack was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He is survived by his spouse, Bonnie; sister, Neta Wood; children, Leon (Sharon) Cheney, Lompoc, CA., Anne (Mike) Broderick, Nampa, ID, Steve (Nancy) Cheney, Columbia, SC; Gary (Sherrie) Cheney, Simi Valley, CA; Eddy (Shirley) John, Bartlesville, OK; Fran (Wayne) Price, Pocatello, ID; Marilyn (Burt) Cason, The Woodlands, TX; Jan (Jerry) King, and Wendy (Bill Wack) Griffith, both of Riverton, UT; 32 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Nona; two brothers, Orval and Ted; one grandchild; and one great-grandchild. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Monday, November 4, 2002 at the Pleasant Green Chapel, 8739 West 3000 South, Magna. Friends may visit on Sunday 6-8 p.m. at the Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, Magna and Monday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Uncle Mack and Aunt Nona Always had parties in the summer at their house. All the families would bring their family and we would eat, play games, visit, laugh, giggle, go home exhausted and renewed.
