Marcia Beach Obituary

Marcia Renee Stephenson Beach
1953~2016
Farmington, UT-An elegant, dignified, and compassionate woman who lived her life with great faith, courage, and a deep understanding of the purposes of life even as she battled the devastating illnesses that ended her mortal journey. She simply made one want to be a better person by being in her presence.
Marcia was born as the youngest of six children to Leonard J. Stephenson and Joffre Marcella Ollivier on July 18, 1953 in Pocatello, Idaho. She spent her early childhood in Lava Hot Springs, Idaho before moving with her family to Syracuse, Utah. She graduated from Clearfield High School and attended Utah State University and graduated from Weber State University in 1975 with a degree in business.
While attending Weber State she met and married David A. Beach in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on June 20, 1975. They were blessed with four children - Bryan D. Beach (Pam) Bountiful, Utah; Michelle L. Luekenga (Nick) Fruit Heights, Utah; Mindy S. Wilson (J.D.) Layton, Utah; and Brad J. Beach Farmington, Utah. She has 12 beloved grandchildren with number 13 on the way. They include: Millicent, Liam, Greta, Phoebe, Hazel, Easton, Miyah, Deacon, Corah, Nashtyn, Campbell, and Winslo.
Marcia considered herself to be very fortunate to be the "baby sister" of siblings Beverly Jeanene Stephenson; Carolyn Sue (Paul) Howard of Centerville, Utah; Leonard (June) Stephenson Ivins, Utah; Dee (Barbara) Stephenson of Kaysville, Utah; and Ross (Sherry) Stephenson of Humble, Texas.
She had a deep and abiding love for her Savior Jesus Christ. She enjoyed studying the scriptures and was regularly involved with temple work prior to her illness. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints she fulfilled various ward and stake callings especially in Young Women's groups and her first love Primary. She and David also served for five years as Guest Service Missionaries at Temple Square in Salt Lake City.
Her personal talents included music and she especially enjoyed and excelled in sewing, quilting and home crafting activities both for personal enrichment and commercially with boutique sales and ownership. However, her greatest joy and happiness in life centered on her family, both children and grandchildren and being involved in the routine day to day activities of family life. With her family by her side, she peacefully and calmly passed on to her eternal glory on June 3, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents Leonard and Joffre Stephenson, sister Beverly, and in-laws Richard and Marguerite Beach.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, June 11, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at the Farmington 19th Ward (Davis Creek Chapel), 825 S. 50 E., Farmington, Utah. Family and friends may call Friday evening from 7:00-9:00 p.m. at the Russon Brothers Mortuary, 1941 North Main St., Farmington and Saturday morning from 11:45-12:45 p.m. at the church prior to services. I was so sorry to hear about Marcia. I heard she was sick but thought she was doing better. Just the small time I spent with her, I knew she was a marvelous lady. This is not the way retirement is supposed to go but I'm sure she appreciated having you by her side. She has gone to prepare a place and it is a blessing to know she is waiting for you and the rest of the family there. May God's comfort and blessing be with you.

Marcia was one of those people who had such a calming influence on everyone. I loved having her in my Quilt Guild and will miss her so much. The last time she attended Quilt Guild, I was lucky enough to have a long conversation with her, which I will cherish always. She was a beautiful quilter and so talented in so many areas. She will be greatly missed.
