I am so sorry to learn of Melanie's death and send my condolences to Aunt Nelda, Nancy, Annjeanette and Kenny. It has been many years since I have seen Melanie, but, I will always remember her kind and gentle nature. When I saw Melanie she was often with Aunt Cleo, Aunt Audrey and Aunt Nelda visiting my grandmother (Lorraine Davis Dewey). It was always a positive experience.

An interesting footnote, my wife's aunt worked with Uncle George at Continental Bank for many years. It's a small world.

Dear Family,
It was very sad hearing that Melanie had passed away. I will always remember the good times we had with her. I remember one time Jeanette made blueberry pie and I got sick in the night. I had blueberries all over Melanie and I. The sheets were also purple. I remember staying at Aunt Nelda's house and falling down the hill. I skinned both of my knees and elbows and in the morning I was stuck to the sheets. I give Melanie lots of credit because whenever I talked to her she never complained about her self not feeling good. She was always wondering how everyone else was doing. I am going to miss our wonderful phone calls. Love to all of you from our family. Love, Sharma

I first met Melanie when she used to come to the Church Offices to visit with one of the Presiding Bishopric. She was always so much fun to be around. We later became better acquainted in the Sacra Dulce Chorus and we have kept in touch all these years off and on. I was looking forward to sending her birthday card next month.
I was saddened a few months ago when I learned that she had left her darling little home and was in a care center herself.
Our care and sympathy go to you as a family.

Dear Larsen Family,
We will miss Melanie and her visits as she rode around Maywood Circle. She was always sweet to our girls, who loved to see her and little Bear. She was thoughtful to our family, and we have always appreciated her kindnesses to us. Yours is a GREAT family--you are good examples to all of us! We love being your neighbors! Love, The Dallimore Family (Nate, Heather, Paige, Libby and Gracie)

Dear Aunt Nelda, Nancy, Janette and Kenny,

It was a shock to hear about Melanie. We had some good times during our high school years and though infrequent, we had good visits on other occasions. Time goes by so quickly. I think she is having a wonderful time with Uncle George, Aunt Audrey, Uncle Blaine and other loved ones. At times like this, I am always greatful to know that someday we will see each again. Please give Aunt Nelda a special hug for us.

"Friendship is like a violin; the music may stop now and then, but the strings will last forever." I heard these words a couple of weeks ago; they triggered the thought of my association with Melanie.

Because I moved to St. George, we haven't seen each other as much as when I was near her in Salt Lake. The distance caused our visits to be sporadic like the music on the violin, yet nothing seemed to be lost; We would pick up where we left off from visit to visit.

Since we were third graders at Rosslyn Heights, she blessed my life with her down to earth integrity and love. Out of life's challenges, I watched her depth develop-seasoned with her special brand of satirical wit.

She truly understood what being a reliable friend was all about. I love Mel, will miss her and always treasure the moments our lives connected.

I extend sympathy to you-her family-at this tender time. Take Care.

Respectfully, Carolyn

Dear Larsen Family; I was in Melanie's graduating class at Highland High School, and I'll always remember how positive and happy she was. Didn't matter what was going on, Melanie was smiling. Although I haven't lived in Salt Lake for years, or seen her, I'm sure she'll be missed by so many. God Bless you, Marsha Fryer

I was a classmate of Melanie's at Highland High School, Class of 1966. We had several classes together, and I enjoyed her company and her laugh.

The Reunion Committe is sorry that they were unable to find Melanie to notify her of our 40th Reunion in June 2006.

I sure wish I had gotten around to mail Melanie's Christmas card last year.

I met Melanie when I worked at Continental Bank on 21st South 22 years ago. I always intended to keep in touch but I didn't do as well as I had hoped. I always looked forward to seeing Melanie. She was so much fun to talk to. I missed seeing her when I transferred offices.

Melanie worked for one of the care center's that my great uncle volunteered at and then lived in. She was definitely one of his favorite people. The last time I saw Melanie was at his 90th birthday in 1995. He was so happy to see her. My whole family was happy that she took the time out of her Saturday to attend.

I am so sorry for your loss. Melanie was an angel here on earth now she can be angel elsewhere. I know that she is pain free and in a better place. But she will still be in here our our hearts and I will always remember her.

Dear Aunt Nelda, Nancy, Jeanette, Kenny and Family,

We were shocked and saddened to hear of Melanie's passing. She was always positive and had been doing so well in the face of the adversity she had faced with her health in recent years. Certainly Uncle George, Grandma and Grandpa Larsen, Uncle Lawrence and Aunt Cynthia and others are having a joyous reunion now. She was loved by many here, including us, and by many who preceded her in death. We share your sadness at her passing. She was a special person and a wonderful cousin. She always brought us smiles and laughter whenever we were with her. May the Lord's love for us all bring peace to you at this difficult time.

Love,
Glen, Joy and Family

Melanie was the sweetest person. I never heard her say anything bad and she always had a sparkle in her eye. I enjoyed having her in my life. I met her when she first moved into the wellington and grew more and more appreciative of her as the days went by. She will be missed.
