Miriam "Mitzie" Pepper Perlman 1920 ~ 2010 Miriam "Mitzie" Pepper Perlman, 90, the last of the "Five Little Pepper's" passed away May 29, 2010. Mitzie was born in Salt Lake City, Utah, January 19, 1920, to Max and Esther Pepper. Being raised in a loving home, she was protected by her brothers and sister. The Pepper household celebrated many Jewish traditions. Mitzie loved to share the memories she held so dear with her family and friends. She loved education and graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Elementary Education. She married Philip Perlman September 1, 1940. They lived in Provo, where they raised their family. They were fond of their community and were involved in many civic activities. They spent over 60 years together, until his death in 2002. Mitzie was a spirited and lively woman. She joked she was born before her time; she longed to be a pilot, run for public office, and witness her beloved elephants running in the wild. Mitzie was a great cook and baker, many family and friends enjoyed her hospitality and laughter in the kitchen. She had a quick wit, strong opinions and dancing eyes. We celebrate the last matriarch of the Max and Esther Pepper family as our mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend. Miriam is survived by her loving children Nancy Perlman White (Clifford), Susan Perlman Robinson (Edward), Michael Perlman (Patricia); her grandchildren, Allyson, David, Jeffery, Gregory and Melissa and eight great-grandchildren. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 1, 2010, 3:00 p.m. at the Congregation Montefiore Cemetery, 4th Avenue and P Street, in Salt Lake City, Utah. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the charity of your choice. We would like to thank St. Josephs Villa for all their care and kindness to our mother.
