Dear Rothenberg Cousins,

Mort was precious to me and he helped pave the way to finding all of you. Because of the person he was, he added immeasurably to my life, despite the fact that our visits and correspondences were few. He was so fine. From our first contact to our last, he was gracious, warm, generous and loving. I am immeasurably richer for having known him. Words just don’t even begin to suffice. He lives on in me, right next to my Dad, his cousin, Murray Rothenberg.

Love,
Joan Rothenberg

I met Mort in 2000 at the Alzheimers Association. His wife, Adele, had just passed away and he was looking for help with his taxes. Mort often brought in his famous roses for the office staff to enjoy; he was so proud of his roses and would tell us about how he mixed together a special combination of ingredients to make them grow large & beautiful. Mort was a very dear man and he will be missed greatly.

My most sincere condolences to all. Even though I met him only a few times while working at the Test and Evaluation Command, Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD - he was a man of great knowledge and passion. He will be sorely missed by all.

We're so glad that Betty lured Mort out to L.A., especially for that wonderful picnic and concert at the Hollywood Bowl. We may not have had many opportunities to visit with him -- since it wasn't until just a few years ago that he "discovered" Betty's cousin Peter living a few miles away from her -- but those few opportunities gave us great pleasure and great insight into the spirit of a terrific man. Hugs and love to all of you --

My dear cousin Mort's passing has indeed saddened me. His warmth and colorful personality and delightful reminiscenses will always be a treasure when I think of him - a bond that goes way back. You are all very fortunate to have been blessed with such an extraordinary father.
Please acccept our deepest and sincerest sympathy.
With love,

Dear Rothenberg Family:
Do except our deepest sympathy in the loss of your father. He was a great friend and my first boss when he arrived at Dugway. We would be to the services if Alice wasn't in the hospital and I am nursing a broken leg.
Find comfort in the many pleasant memories both he and your mother blessed you with.
Lovingly, Mel and Alice Ludlow

Mort was a person of extraordinary talent. I will always cherish the conversations we had, the stories he recounted of such incredible academic and personal achievement. But what I will remember most is his kindness, compassion, and generosity. Mort’s belief in bringing seemingly impossible dreams to reality, his encouragement of curiosity, and above all, his capacity to give so much love was his greatest gift. He will be deeply missed.

Mort was a master of many things, and none so precious as the love and nurturing that he so generously gifted our hearts. Forever the scientist, his stories engaged us with the journeys of his inquisitive mind. We love him and thank his family for sharing him with us.
