Norman Garrett Obituary

1935 ~ 2016
On Father's Day we said farewell to an incredible husband, father, grandfather, friend and a true gentleman. Norm passed away peacefully on June 19th surrounded by his "girls". He was born to Norman and Ada Roberts Garrett on March 24th, 1935 in Beaver, UT. He spent most of his youth with his uncle Sonnie fishing and camping in the Cedar Mountains. He attended West High School and later served in the US Air Force. Norm married his first wife in 1955, divorced. He married the love of his life, his best friend Terri D Jepsen in January 1987.
His achievements were abundant. These achievements included Lincoln Mercury Salesman of the nation for several years, which inspired him to open his own automobile dealership. He achieved his dream and opened Spartan Jeep Eagle in 1969. He also served as President of the UADA and several years as President of the Utah Arabian Horse Association. Norm sold Spartan and retired in 1995. He has been a member of Hidden Valley Country Club for the past 30 years, where many lifelong friendships were born.
Norm was a "car-man" who lived life to the fullest. He traveled the world, loved snow skiing, boating, fishing, and golf. But most of all, he loved his family, his little buddy Lexie, his friends and his beloved Sopranos.
He is survived by his wife Terri, brothers Bill (Pie), Ted (Barbara), daughter Norma (Brad) Lindstrom, his step-daughters Callie Jepsen and Jolyn Wheeler, seven grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, brother Bobby, daughter Leslie Welte, grandsons Austin Welte and Kevin Lehman.
"Those we love don't go away, they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near. Still loved, still missed and very dear"
A celebration to honor Norm's life will be held at Hidden Valley Country Club on July 6th, 2016 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. 11820 S Highland Drive, Sandy, UT 84092.

Precious and dear memories of Norm and his love, Terri. We were such buddies in Mesquite. I will feel his presence always in so many places. He was always the perfect gentleman. What a wonderful gift he gave us, just by knowing him. He made my life more fulfilled, more joyous, and grateful for dear friends and the love of life.

Worked for Norm at Spartan and can say he was one very honest likable man who could take anyone off the streets and teach them sales and friendship. RIP Norm.

I didn't know Norm very well, but I did have the pleaser of knowing his daughter Norma and grandaughter Anastasia who happens to be my daughter in law. My heart goes out to these two amazing women and the rest of their family for the lost of Norman.
