Phyllis Barker Obituary
Our Heavenly Father took Phyllis on September 8, 2014 after a long struggle with illnesses. Born September 6, 1934 in Portland, Oregon to Philip and Athena Rickman. With her family, she moved to Salt Lake City in 1948. After graduating from South High School, she attended Stevens-Henager College. Worked as a secretary for various companies. Retired in 1996 from Becton Dickinson as an executive assistant. Married Herbert "Tex" Barker in Salt Lake City in 1959. He was the love of her life. She loved her family dearly. She had a passion for music, singing and needlework. Survived by son, Steven (Debbie) Barker; grandson, Chris (Jackie) Rogers; granddaughter, Natalie (Justin) Mackay; great-granddaughter, Carly Mackay, and sister, Margaret Rickman. Preceded in death by her husband; son, John Barker and parents. Graveside services will be held Friday, September 12th, 2:00 p.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 So. Redwood Rd. with a visitation one hour prior in the mortuary.

Steven and Family,
I'm so sorry to hear about Phyllis' passing. Can you imagine the reunion she is having with your dad and brother. I used to clean your parents home and they were always so kind to me. May you find peace and comfort during this difficult time.

Phyllis has been my good friend for about four years. I am really going to miss her. I love and respect her and I know how much she loves her family. I am glad that she is now out of pain and at peace with her Father in Heaven.
