Phyllis was an amazing woman. She knew what was really important as evidenced by her Christmas tree still in the living room in February or March. She was a shaker and a mover. If she said, “I’ll take care of it,“ you could count on it! Convincing utility companies to extend services to their cabin is just one example.
Phyllis was incredibly, smart and creatively, adventurous. Her concern for us and our family, was always evident in our conversations. She would ask about each one. Phyllis was EXTREMELY PROUD of THE INDIVIDUAL ACHIEVEMENTS of EACH MEMBER of HER FAMILY, making sure her friends knew about their numerous accomplishments. She was the driving force behind many people and the choices made by them. Her life was exceptional, and her influence endless.

David and I are so sad to hear of Phyllis leaving all of us. She was always up for adventures and would get
that little mischievous look in her eyes as these were discussed. One night as David and I were eating dinner with her and President Williams, up in the mountains at a youth conference, we all realized that we had corn between our teeth. Phyllis pulled out a full package of Dental Floss....saying that "no one should leave home without it." Every time I use dental floss, I remember this vivacious lady who had come PREPARED. She always had costumes to share for every occasion. She had a recipe for everything......EVERYTHING. We knew that she was someone who was there for all of us, at any time. She was the "go-to" person for so many things. What an awesome lady! We pray that you will feel the Lord's comfort and peace at this difficult time. He has taken her unto Himself and the reunion was sweet. Phyllis will not be far away, but still loves and cares for you all. Sincerely, David and Kathryn Colvin

Clare...it is with sadness that we learned about Phyllis tonight. She was such a joyful person and we always enjoyed being around her. We were touched by your presence at our 50th anniversary celebration last year and often remember the great times we all had together. While this is a sorrowful time the knowledge we have of eternal families takes some of the sadness away. She will be greatly missed.
