Dear Becky,

I was so sorry to hear of your dad's passing, and even sorrier when I realized how long it's been since I've seen your family. Our thoughts are with you...

Our sympathies go out to the Reeve family. We first met Elder Reeve when he was driving Becky to Provo for her workout with Leighton. He was always so cheerful and genuinely happy to see us. Later when we helped edit and mail out the Warriors newsletter Elder Reeve would often bring the copies to our house. My mother always enjoyed their brief but uplifting conversations. He knew what it meant to be a caregiver and always made my mother feel appreciated. What an inspiring man he was.

I remember years ago I had the opportunity to introduce Brother Rex C. Reeve at a BYU fireside. I incorrectly called him "Elder Rex Reed" (a comedian). I was sorely embarrased but he was very gracious.

Dear Becky and all the Reeve Family,

We will always remember warmly and gratefully appreciate the extraordinary goodness of Elder Reeve, as a Mission President with whom we share treasured memories, as the friend who sealed our marriage and as the Temple Presidency counselor whose earnest encouragement to enjoy the blessings of the Temple left no dry eyes in our Stake Conference. May the comfort and peace of heaven be with you at this time of parting until you are reunited.

Dearest Becky and Family,

I like you am grieved at the loss of your father but am bouyed up by the realization that he has additional work to do where he has gone.I served under his guidance as a missionary over 25 years ago and still retain many of the skills and attributes that he enbued to me.He was so influential in my life by his example and spirit that I named a son after him to remind me of all that he stood for and for what virtues that I should aspire. Please likewise know of my loss as yours for I loved him also and have cherished our time together as I share fond memories with my children of his service and teachings in so great a cause. He was a powerful missionary and a great friend and leader. The kingdom benefitted by his commitment and talents. Till we meet again.

Dear Family and especially Becky,

It has been a difficult month for me as I am sure it is for you as my mother passed away on the 8th. President Reeve was like a father to me. He was and is one of the best men I have ever known. Hope to see you all at the funeral.

A week ago Saturday as I sat in the Jordan River Temple missing my sweetheart who was killed in December 2004...I was warmed by the thought of your sweet father who had known my husband for years (meeting in Huntington Beach Ca. where my husband served as a stake missionary). My husband approached your father in the JRT in 1992 and asked if he would marry us, your father graciously consented. Several years later your father and sweet mother visited my mother-in-laws home and conducted a family home evening with us... I can't help but believe that my sweetheart is standing in line to embrace your sweet father.

With sincere affection,
