Rick was my best friend in high school. He was the one who brought me into the old East Mill Creek group of friends. I only saw Rick a few years ago after moving from the neighborhood in 1959. I regret not keeping in closer contact over the years. Best wishes to his family.

I was one of the fortunate to listen to and sing with Rick, Dave and Elaine. We would always look forward to hearing them at Christmas time as well as at other activities in the EMC 9th Ward. My family and I (and siblings too!) extend our deepest sympathies and prayers to Rick's children and wife, Loreen (and Sherry too!) Rick will truly be missed!

My most fondest memory of Rick was the twinkle in his eye, and the love in his voice the first time he told me he had met the Love of his life Loreen. Rick was always very happy and we laughed alot when visiting. He was able to help whenever he could with what ever you needed, a very kind giving man that will truely be missed. My condolances to the family. My thaughts and prayers are with you.
He has made Heaven a Brighter Place with his presence......

The Rose family are very sad to hear of your news. We will try to attend but if we don't make it be sure that we are thinking of you. He seemed like the sweetest man ever. I only know him because Loreen taught my kids Karate. Cole wants Loreen to know that he is very sad for her as well as Rachael. I only wished I could have heard him sing. God bless you and your family.

Some of my fondest memories are of being at the Barney house listening to Uncle Rick tell jokes, play his guitar, and sing. I can still hear him clapping his hands together and then rubbing them together furiously as he laughed contagiously at the joke he had just told. Although I did not see him much over the past years, he will be missed. I look forward to the day I will hear him tell a joke and sing again.

I have the greatest memories of Rick (Mr. Barney). His vigorous laugh and hand rubbing while watching intense basketball or football matches!!!! When Heidi and I would get into our usual trouble....Sherry would scold us and enforce the disipline...and we would look over at Rick and see the twinkle in his eye and the smile he was trying to hide -because he appreciated and was humored by our creative - crazy mischief. He was tender, and very kind. The trips to Iceburg he would reward us with after we washed the racy Cougar!
I always felt a part of the Barney family growing up....I loved his warmness. He will alway be a part of my life...and I a grateful to the Barney family for letting me be such a part of their life growing up. I love you all!
