Rulon Kent Frazier

Rulon Kent Frazier, 83, beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, passed away May 13, 2017 from a short but courageous battle with cancer in the comfort of his home. He was born on February 25, 1934 to Thomas LaMar and Grace (Prescott) Frazier. Kent grew up in Oakley, Utah and graduated from South Summit High School. He served an LDS mission in Western Canada. He attended BYU where he met his wife Kenna Beth (Dayton) Frazier. They were married in the Salt Lake City LDS Temple on August 12, 1959. Kent taught school and coached basketball and football for 30 years. Kent was inducted into the Distinguished Coaches of Utah Sports Hall of Fame and the UHSAA Circle of Fame. Kent served on the Oakley City Town Council and was an active member of the LDS church where he served in many auxiliaries. When Kent wasn't teaching or coaching, he enjoyed working on the farm. However, his greatest love and joy in life was his family. He is survived by his wife Kenna, Oakley; daughters Kathy Mae (Gary) Sorenson, Oakley; Karri (Ammon) Bennett, Price; Konni (Johnny) Thompson, Oakley; Karma (Troy) Oakley; Weston Kent (Sheri) Frazier, Oakley; and Jed LaMar (Rachel) Frazier, Oakley; 17 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren and one on the way; sisters, Sharee Pace and Brenda Atkinson. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother, VerNon. A very special thanks to Audrey Stembridge for her tender care and extra love she gave throughout this difficult time!
A viewing will be held Wednesday, May 17th from 6:00 to 8:00pm and Thursday, May 18th from 9:45 to 10:45am. Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 18th at 11:00am at the North Bench LDS Church on 1224 West State Rd. 32, Oakley.
