Sharon Hatch Obituary

Sharon Winward Hatch "A Legacy of Love" Our cherished mother and grandmother Sharon Winward Hatch was called home to her Heavenly Father on the morning of October 19th, 2008. Her legacy of love and service to others will be remembered by everyone who ever had the opportunity of coming in contact with her. Sharon was born to Alfonzo and Mable Goldie Winward in Vernal, Utah on February 8, 1936. She graduated from Uintah High School and spent the next few years working for Mountain Bell as a telephone operator until she decided to stay home and be a full time mom. She later moved to Salt Lake City, and after raising her family, went to work at Tracy Collins Bank. She became a Recreational Therapist and spent many happy years working at Doxey Hatch and Sandy Regional where she brought sunshine and hope to all those she cared for. Sharon was a faithful member of the LDS church and spent most of her life serving with the youth of the church. She was a gifted teacher and always tried to reach out to those whom others seemed to forget. She served in several Young Women Presidencies, also as a Sunday School Teacher, a Relief Society President, and was a temple worker in the Jordan River Temple. She served a mission in the Independence, Missouri Mission and The Family History Mission in Salt Lake City. Her greatest love was her family. She loved, taught, and served each of her children and grandchildren with every ounce of energy she had. Because of her example each of her family members learned early to love their Heavenly Father and each other. She spent her time at family outings, playing with the grandchildren while all of the other adults were visiting. She always liked to be where the fun was. Sharon is survived by her three children: Sharae (David) Pettit; Quinn (Anita) Hatch; and Shelli (Brad) Rawson. She leaves 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers and three sisters-in-law. Preceding her in death were her parents, one sister, and two brothers. Funeral Services will be held Fri., October 24, 2008, 11 a.m. at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 So.), with a viewing from 9:30-10:45 am prior to the service. Interment, Sandy City Cemetery. Online condolences at www.jenkins-soffe.com

Shelli, Quinn & Sharae,

I'm so sorry to hear your mom passed away. My mom told me she saw her in the paper. When I lived across the street from you on Meadow Downs Way, she was always so sweet! I loved your mom and I'm sorry we haven't kept in touch.

Please know I'm thinking about you and send all my prayers your way!

I am so sorry for your loss. I used to play at your house when I was young. My Mom and Dad (Rex and Lilly Mae Batty)were good friends with your mom and dad in Vernal. My Mom passed away this last May so I really know what a loss you are feeling. May you always feel her with you. It is a great comfort.

We will miss Aunt Sharons glowing smile, wonderful laugh and shining spirit in this world. She did leave us with fond memories and lessons on how to live life beautifully. I (Keri)
love remembering how pretty she looked when she and uncle Raymond were all gussied up to go out square dancing, her red and white checkered dress. And of course the pig story will never be forgotten! Aunt Sharon was so proud of her family and was so loved and taken care of by them. We are honored to be a part of your family.
We love you all and our prayers are with you.
