Shawn Parker Obituary
Shawn was born November 3, 1983 in Salt Lake City, UT. Shawn was loving and adventurous, but faced many challenges in life including addiction, which contributed to his passing.
But through his challenges, with the support of family, Shawn continually found strength to push forward. The past eight months we got to see Shawn as a loving son, brother, father, and husband. We believe he is now serving his Heavenly Father, something he was always striving to do.
Shawn is survived by his wife KariLyn; daughters Chloe, Libby, and Serenity; stepchildren Braden, Katelyn, and Nicole Mills; his parents Wayne and Linda Parker; siblings Lisa (Curtis) Okelberry, Lara (Peter) Waite, David (Mary Ann), Jared (Jana), Beth (Andy) Hendrickson, Aaron (Jacque), Shara (Nick) Park. Also, his Grandmother Arlene, and many nieces and nephews. Preceded in death by his Grandfather, Gail Parker, and Aunt, Diane Mecham.
A viewing will be held on Thursday, July 30 from 6-8 p.m. at the Whitehall Ward Chapel located at 3150 W. Whitehall Drive (3985 S.), West Valley City, Utah. On Friday, July 31 at 10:00 a.m. there will be a 45 minute viewing prior to the funeral service beginning at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, donations are being accepted for the Serenity Parker Donation Fund at any Zion's Bank.

Dearest Wayne and Linda and also darling KariLynn, who was so enamoured with sweet Shawn, we grieve with you for this great loss. The boys are equally grieved and told me it was Shawn who introduced them to Nutella, their favorite food group. Shawn was ever ready to help and to serve. Even my sister visiting from Seattle met Shawn because we were able to give him a ride when we saw him walking in his painter whites after dark. She likewise thought highly of Shawn. Shawn always agreed that he had awesome parents. He exuded such gratitude for others that it makes his passing difficult to bear. We were sad to hear the news of Shawn's passing. We've never lost a child but have lost family members at a young age. We can only imagine the sadness all of you are feeling. Our hearts go out to each member of your family. We know that you are a family of great faith and that your strength in the Gospel will help get you through this.
