Shinji Miya 1923 ~ 2006 OGDEN, UT/PRESCOTT, AZ - Shinji Miya, 82, of Ogden, Utah and Prescott, Arizona, died Thursday, April 27, 2006 at Prescott Valley Samaritan Center in Prescott Valley, AZ. Shin was born September 16, 1923 in Sunset, Utah. He married Natsuko "June" Kawata on January 19, 1958 and resided in Warren, Utah until 2005 when he moved to Prescott, Arizona. A true farmer at heart, upon his retirement in the mid-1980's, Shin spent his time working in his garden and sharing his vegetable with others. He also enjoyed tinkering with his collection of old farm tractors and feeding his many adopted stray cats. Shin was a generous, kind and simple man, one of few words but many good deeds. Surviving are his son, Aldon, of Ogden, UT; daughter, Ranae and her husband Bob Cameron of Prescott, AZ; grandson, Kyle of Ft. Bragg, NC; granddaughter, Leslie of Broomfield, CO. He also leaves behind his brother Shay of Bountiful, UT; and his sister Mae Ogino of Monterey Park, CA. Shin was preceded in death by his wife of 43 years, June, his brother Sam and his sister Isoko. Funeral services will be held Friday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist's Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. Friends may call at the mortuary on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
