I can´t believe that it´s been seven years since you went home!! I haven´t been to Dutton for a few years because of several medical issues, one being cancer!! I´m scanning my photos weekly, reminiscing about all of the hunts and our visits we had!! You were such a great man and your friendship meant a great deal to all of us at camp!! I´m sure that your friends still share your memories at the coffee shop!! I´ve spoken with Lee and he misses you very much!! Keep it at full draw and keep a tight line!! I´ll be joining you for another adventure!!

Really do miss you my friend!! The years go by so quickly!! Spoke with Lee the other day and we had a good chat!! He thinks of you every day!! Another season will pass by without my being able to go!! I´m having to take radiation treatments for cancer!! If I´m fortunate enough to be around next year, I´ll try to make it back to Dutton!! I´ll be looking up for you!!

Steve, you are constantly on my mind as I battle my own physical and mental issues. You are greatly missed each year and never fotgotten. I received an old edition of Western Hunter magazine with your photo on the cover from a hunt that was many many years ago.. I'll always cherish it. I'll be back hunting this year for what will most likely be my last.. I'll be seeing you!!!

Steve my friend and brother in the great outdoors, I stopped on the bluffs just past Jones Corral and said a prayer and a wish for you to have a great Father's Day in heaven last Saturday. Really miss the phone calls, messages and emails from you as we planned my return for another hunting and fishing adventure. I always looked forward to having you and Lee stop at camp or meet for lunch in town.. I'm planning on leaving a small memorial to you at camp this year and hopefully folks will leave it alone. Happy trails

As hard as you might try, you could never describe Steve Smith to anyone, you could never do it justice. Steve is the true example of "Salt of the Earth." I was lucky enough to work and hunt with Steve and I can tell you, the guy is crazy fun !! RIP my bother, you did well.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Steve today. Me and my dad and brother had some great hunting adventures with Steve many years ago. He was so passionate about the outdoors and so much fun to be around. I will always treasure the time we were able to spend with him. I hope his family receives peace and comfort with his passing.
Sincerely,
Jarod

Lorraine and family --
I am thinking of you . . . I know the memories of the great times you spent with Steve will help you through these tough times.
I spent many years enjoying Steve's company at Mountain Fuel/Questar. To say the least we worked hard and had LOTS of fun in the process!
Kindest personal regards . . . GaryB

What can I say? Darwin and Steve had a special friendship. His smile and warmth was always welcome. Their shared stories always brought a twinkle to their eyes. I know they are kicking up their heels now, free of pain and stress. Thank you Steve for visiting Darwin just before he passed. Thank you Steve for your gift of elk meat. He savored every bite. And, thank you for being you.
My love and support goes to you Lorraine, his loving wife.

I am so sorry to hear about the passing of my long time friend and fellow RMEF supporter Steve Smith. I always enjoyed his stories and humor as we planned many banquets together in Cedar City. I remember one occasion where Steve was preparing for the elk bulging contest and he brought a home made call with dozens of elk turds glued all around it. He will be missed. Happy hunting my friend. Dear Steve Smith family,
Steve will be sorely miss by all. He always had a smile on his face, a kind word to say and a hug or a hand shake for everyone.
We should have more people in the world that had the love of life, a smile in his voice and the loving heart that Steve Smith always had.
Love and prayers to your family,
Paul and Sherry Reutlinger

I am so saddened to learn of the the passing of Steve.I cherish all of the moments we shared in Price. I worked for him at Sunset Sporting Goods and we fished and hunted a lot together. Kind of funny you don't meet someone from your hometown until you move away. Words cannot express my sympathy to the family. He contacted me a few years ago after learning of the passing of my wife. You will be missed my friend.
