Myrtle Glaeser Dove, age 90, passed away Saturday, January 6, 2007. A lifelong resident of San Antonio, she was born in the King William area on December 25, 1916. She graduated from Brackenridge High School in 1934 and earned a BachelorÕs Degree of Music from Our Lady of the Lake College in 1938. Mrs. Dove was a devoted elementary teacher who combined music with education: Alamo Heights Elementary School (1939-1942); Woodlawn Elementary School (1953-1970); and as a faithful substitute teacher at Shenandoah and Colonies North Elementary Schools (1971-1992). She was predeceased by her husband of 57 years, John Wright Dove. They were loyal members of St. MarkÕs Episcopal Church, where she taught Sunday school and was the ChildrenÕs Choir Director and Organist for many years. The Doves moved into the USAA Towers in 1992, where both lived for the remainder of their lives. Mrs. Dove is survived by three children: Catherine Dove Haney and husband Roy, Pasadena, TX; Henry Glaeser Dove and wife Elaine, Hamden, CT; and Dorothy Carol Dove of Houston, TX; grandchildren: Roy Michael Haney, Leigh Haney Choate, Kathryn Dove Metcalfe, Sabrina Elizabeth Dove, Jeremy Robert Gaige, and Bryan Glaeser Gaige; and great-grandchildren: Ryan and Erin Haney, Jessica and Sarah Oakley.
